Hubby's brother joined the army last year and is getting ready to deploy to Iraq and spent the last month here reqruiting and I guess she has this glorified idea of what it is like


I am sooooooo ****ing pissed and don't know what to

EDIT TO ADD..

She is gifted, is in the top 1/4 of her class. She sings like a dream...She will get Scholarships and does NOT need this to pay for college.

She is graduating HS one year early

she was supposed to go to college

I will NOT let her join the army



and she knows how we feel about this ****ing war

Maybe she's actually interested in serving her country?  *shrug*  Maybe she knew it would piss her moonbatty BDS suffering mother crazy?

Greenbriar, you should realize that this is not your decision to make, and your daughter will decide what's right for her and it maybe the military.  Your best bet is to suck it up and support your daughter with whatever she chooses to do, if you don't you run the risk alienating your daughter away from you.

She and her her dad my hubby have already had serious talks about it. He has told me not to buck against it because it will push her more towards the military for sure

All I have to say is that I will NEVER sign anything and he better not either so if this is what she wants when she is 18 I can't stop her

But I agree with GreenBriar, she shouldn't join the Army. The Air Force is a much better branch to serve in.  :-)

She's taking a test, not joining now.  If she really wants to, she'll join when she's 18.  Or who knows, her dad may support her in her decision.
