He is gone, the other half of my life died Friday. We were two
Advertisements [?]halves of a whole. 45 years, through all of the ups and downs life had to throw at us and we made it. Plans are being made, my 2 girls are with me and all the family will be here tomorrow. I hope I can keep myself together for all of them. My husband was a remarkable man who loved everyone, who made friends with everyone. They will all remember him with great fondness. My heart is broken and I don't know how to get through this.

Please understand why I am posting this, I just need to talk to someone. Right now I am so alone, he is gone and I wish I was with him. My small family is devastated. It is so hard to plan final arrangements. My girls are a blessing to me because I could not do it.

I hope there is a special place where he is, someplace where he can keep an eye on me and know I love him so much and will for the rest of my life
God Bless you yy4me,your husband sounds like a wonderful man....45 years! Wow!http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=276x7936

My condolences.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I hope I make it 45 years with my lovely wife.  We married a tad later than most--I was 36; she was 30.

Well, dear, you are posting on the wrong board with that kind of sentiment.  DU exists somewhere outside the Light of God.

What you need to do is change your "hope" into confirmed knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  You situation is sad and I know you are hurting.  We all go through these times of utter grief.  The only way to come out the other end with your sanity intact is to go through it with The Lord standing by you.

Death is inevitable and we all face the earthly separation of ourselves from our loved ones.  We who know Christ know our emptiness is only temporary.  It still hurts, but the joy we share in the Light of God lets us know everything will be ok.
