I'm not gonna say anything mean about her, she/he has my sympathy.  From what UGP has shown us, I'm sure the cat was hugely important in her/his life and the passing cut very, very deeply.  Sincere condolences, UGP.

It has been over a year since my beloved Musica, who spent 25 years with me (and Mrs. FD) left.  I still grieve for her.

But the ANGER of UP is a sign of some serious instability.

I pray for her to get through the stages of grief and get to acceptance.

This is one of the prices of faithlessness -- I am pretty sure I will see my beloved Musica (and her sister Neysa) on the "Rainbow Bridge" when I am done with whatever I am supposed to do here on Earth.  That knowledge is unavailable to the UPs of the world -- for them, this is it and the end of someone is just that, the end.

But I also believe in a loving God that takes care of us even when we don't know Him.  Someday UP will stand before God and, if she has done nothing worse that rant on a lefty board, she will know His love and forgiveness.  And she will be led to the Rainbow Bridge for the reunion she can't see in her heart.

my condolences to UP for losing a beloved pet. They do become a part of your family and grieving the loss is commonplace.

But.. that anger.. That's not right. All of us are destined to die. Many of us will go the same way her cat did. its tragic, but it is not a reason to want to go on a killing spree. As for the bodies we are trapped in - If you believe in God, then it is his plan. If you believe in Darwin, then we are because we are the most fit to be. Or if your beliefs are somewhere between, then we are as dictated by God, and refined by evolution.

The only type of person who would go on a rant like this is one who accepts nihilism - and they are the scariest people alive.

I'm sorry for you loss UP.

Forgive the world when you are done grieving.  Hating the world only drives you crazy.

The loss of a beloved pet can be a traumatic event, having experienced this myself, however, one must consider the relative sanity level that UP is starting from.....before this event.....

As rediculous as she/he/it is, for this event only, she/he/it has my condolences........and I'm fairly certain that her cat is now in a better place......

doc

That's what I think too.

I love my little kitties and I will be very sad when they die, but not in the same sense that UP is upset.  I wish her/him/it well.

Actually, I think her anger at the world has brought her to this point, I think it is responsible for the majority of her craziness but right now while she is in grief there is very little point in her trying to forgive the world.

The good thing about her craziness is it is like fire, we touch fire and get burned and that is how we learn not to touch fire.  Most of us don't have to go that far but this is just an exaggerated example. Right now, life is really teaching her that being angry all the time hurts really bad.  She has a fantastic opportunity, after a period of grieving, if she just gets tired of being in pain all the time.

I feel sorry for UGP.  I think she has some serious mental issues and for whatever reason she believes that the whole world is to blame.  She has decided that her entire condition is shaped by external forces.  She has extended that psychosis beyond the mortal world.  I expect that every day of her life is a living hell, because she sees demons behind every action.  It would be nice if she got some help, but she has rejected mental professionals at every turn.  So she lives her sad little existence, relying on the goodness of family and strangers to exist, while condemning all those that help her.  I wouldn't wish her life on anyone.

But, I have to admit, I am guilty of laughing at her rants.  Bobbolink and UGP are comedic gold.

I had no feelings for the subway cat when some time ago, she admitted that when the cat "misbehaved," she "punished" it by putting it in a cage (I assume the "cage" is one of those plastic cat-carriers).

People like that should be horse-whipped.

Animals are not meant to be caged.  A cat doesn't know shit about punishment-and-reward.

Some dogs can be trained to like being caged, but dogs are smarter than cats.  To a dog, a short excursion in a cage in the back of the pick-up truck means fun and games at some destination, but dogs are smarter than cats.  To cats, it instills only terror.

You are correct.  Probably the better word would be pity.  Her hatred consumes her, which is sorrowful.  But I can not excuse her hatefully words and actions.

When I think about UP, keep hearing this quote from Con Air.......
Garland Greene: He's a font of misplaced rage. Name your cliche; Mother held him too much or not enough, last picked at kickball, late night sneaky uncle, whatever. Now he's so angry that moments of levity actually cause him pain; give him headaches. Happiness, for that gentleman, hurts.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I think she has had help. In fact, I think she has spit in the face of everyone who has tried (like her own family). She is a sad case and does need help. It's not all attention whoring. There are some serious issues there.

I can't help but think in the days of asylums, she'd be a long term resident. What a waste. I'm sure behind the madness is a beautiful person.

Lets put this in perspective folks! It would upset a "normal" mentally healthy person to lose a pet! UGP has serious mental and emotional problems...her reaction considering how mentally ill she is,is actually not surprising. Remember she believes herself to be part feline so when one of her "peers" dies it is like losing a part of herself.

There's a beautiful person buried inside every human being.

Decent and civilized people do their best to bring those things good and decent about themselves out to the surface.

Primitives Hate beauty, goodness, and decency, so they vigorously suppress theirs.

Pedro Picasso, for example, could be a Gift to Humanity, but no, he'd rather be an asshole.

I understand, Frank. As someone who looks for that 'beauty', I do find it sad that people try to bury it. I can understand not wanting to be vulnerable to a point, but the ridiculous lengths the primitives go to in an effort to hide the lovely spirit underneath is just very sad.

UP is a danger not only to herself but to those around her. The only way to help her and ensure the safety of society is to trap her, put her in an institution and give her a lobotomy.
There is no way to stop that kind of rage and mental sickness other than to cut it out of her head.
