paraphrasing. that many a times stories are pre written and you go out and get the appropriate quotes to fill it in, is true, not just for political stories. I tend to not do that...but most media does. That editors tell reporters to do this is also true. To be fair, this is not just on political stories. A lot of them are done that way. Deadlines... you know.

This is not news, just that it is not helpful. I am not going to tell any candidate how to run their campaign, but local experience is that those who ignore people who buy ink by the barrel... tend to get even more negative coverage.

Here is another aspect that he is not aware off... but in particular to the Clinton campaign to the fear of insert editor here. If I run a negative story on woodchuck, there is a danger we will no longer have access. Well, she has cut access to almost all press and I hope she did not learn the lesson a lot of my local far RW pols did learn. They will not grant an interview even to middle of the road media. They will ONLY grant those to RW radio shows.

And if she did, well, we have entered a more dangerous phase in parallel universes where politics exists as a battle ground, and media is manipulated by pols to create particular story lines. This ground was first tilled by people like yes, the darling of the RW Darell Issa, and people like Gingrich before him. The 1990s were lovely, if you want to go down that memory lane, to see the origin of this.


Oh and for the record, among democrats she is not alone. She is just prominent.

And for those who will automatically think this is criticism of her, nope, I get it exactly where she is coming from. I also get it why the few times she has been asked anything they have been whiffle balls with one nerf ball. To be fair, everybody is getting asked those.

I am far more critical of the media when it comes to things like this anymore than the politicians. Pols are in the business of media and persona management... and media at times asks the equivalent of "how do you feel?" kind of question. It is like media prefers those.

Another hot word salad to go with extra dressing.

She has a unique gift for putting words and phrases together that are just uncomfortable with one another.

When you read her stuff, it's like you can feel the words squirming on the page, trying to escape because they don't fit or make sense with their neighbors.

It's probably the way the words would flow if I wrote in mexican, and my command of mexican is limited to ordering at Chuy's.
