I left a note on Hutchinson's FaceBook page over the weekend and someone made a protest sign of it

A reference to Winthrop Rockefeller, one of the sons of John D. Jr. and a grandson of the original John D.  He was the first (R) elected governor of Arkansas, back in 1966, and credited with both bringing the state into the 20th century, and the Republican party into Arkansas.

A younger brother of Nelson, then the governor of New York.

I'm not sure the "meaning" of the sign, but Orval Faubus was the (D) governor just before Rockefeller, like Democrats, liberals, and primitives then and now a rigid racist.

Maybe it has something to do with the below link . . .

http://www.thv11.com/story/news/2015/03/29/emergency-meeting-calling-governor-asa-hutchinson-to-veto-hb-1228/70652944/

Apparently, there's a religious freedom law that has been ratified by both houses of the Arkansas legislature.  This DUmmie wants it vetoed.

I dunno how accurate this information currently is, as I'd read it shortly after Winthrop Rockefeller died, and his son Winthrop Jr. was still alive.....which was some years ago.

Winthrop had been the outlier, the odd one, of the five Rockefeller brothers--John D. III, Nelson, Winthrop, Laurance, and David.  Made for the strenuous life, early on he worked the oil fields while his brothers puttered around in the office.

He was conservative, they were liberal Republicans.

The rest of the family, being effete snobs, ignored him.

He had one child, Winthrop Jr., also snubbed by his liberal cousins.

While his elitist cousins squandered away their own inheritances, Winthrop Jr. ended up--and by far--the richest of that generation of Rockefellers.

Not bad for the black sheep.

Yeah.  And squandered most of what he'd inherited, while this "black sheep" got richer and richer, investing in job-creating enterprises.

Like the Kennedys, who are still squandering "Papa Joe's" bootlegging fortune.

All good things will soon come to an end, and someday, somewhere, a Kennedy will have to get a real job.

I could never understand the primitives' derision about Reagan's "a rising tide lifts all boats."

It's an elementary law of nature, and an observable and measureable one, that a rising tide lifts all boats.  And the primitives allege themselves to be "scientific."

Anyway, to get on the subject, the black sheep of the Rockefellers elevated the living standards, and sometimes considerably so, of "hillbilly" Ozarks Arkies, by investing in enterprises that created jobs, and better-paying jobs.

It appears that alas the liberal cousins just spent their money.....

It was Reagan, absolutely true and exploded their widdle heads full of closely held bullshit from Professor Birkenstock.

Nothing else mattered, nor will ever matter.

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.

I believe JFK* made that statement in a speech, but both were correct, the tide don't discriminate...
Sam Walton did the same thing, and he didn't have a fortune to start off with.
