I stopped at a little place late one night, had my kids all along. Their rates looked good, so I went in and registered. I should have gotten a clue when the clerk said, "How long?" and seemed surprised when I said, "Just one night."
We got to the room, and as I expected, the bathroom wasn't very clean. I scrubbed it down before I let the kids brush their teeth, then told them to go to sleep. The first one in bed said, "Hey, Mom, there's only 1/2 a blanket." What??

I checked the other bed...same thing. (OK, I admit, I was really slow that night. It had been a very long day.) I called the office and asked what was up with the blankets. The clerk sounded terribly embarrassed, and was at the door in a couple minutes with real blankets, several towels and some toiletries. Then he apologized, adding, "Most of our customers take a room for 1/2 an hour, maybe a whole hour tops."
