Two "symbols," on opposite ends of the state, that drives women's-libbers nuts:

Oh my.  This, I gotta go brag about.

Nebraska's the state with the most homes with indoor plumbing.

Missouri - even if it's my adopted state - stubbornness.

Yeah, that, but according to the map, "Best Trails."

Yeah, that, but according to the map, "Best Trails."

And your native state boasts "the most licensed drivers."

I assume these 'statistics,' like the modern plumbing here in Nebraska, is "per capita" or "per household" or "per something else."

 :fuelfire:

Like DAT, Missouri's my adopted state though I've been here not quite 8 years - a relatively short time.

One thing I've not quite understood is this MO/KS thing - yeah, I know it goes back to the Civil War and prolly before then, but Jeezus, guys, it's pretty much a fictitious line in the sand. Nobody takes that shit seriously any more.

Right?  :rotf:

I don't, but I'm originally from Nebraska, and lived in Missouri for 13 years before I moved to Kansas. There are good and bad things about each state, and on the whole I prefer Kansas to Missouri.

I couldn't swear to it, but I'd say there are probably fewer liberals in KS. St. Louis is choked with them, and Columbia - fuggedaboudit. It's a veritable libfest there all the time.  :p

California, agricultural products, especially fruits and nuts.

Actually, we do produce a lot of food, dairy, & wine; Hollyweird; Silicon Valley.

Highest salaries to go with the taxes!
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

Salinas Valley is, I am pretty sure, still the Onion Capital of the World.

California out-produces not only every state in the Union but in some products all of them combined.

Including grain and potatoes.

Salinas Valley is, I am pretty sure, still the Onion Capital of the World.

California out-produces not only every state in the Union but in some products all of them combined.

Including grain and potatoes.

Lots of different green veggies in the Salinas Valley and along the central coast. Lots of wine grapes in and about Napa and Sonoma Counties. The Central Valley and Inyo Valley grow all kinds of things, from cotton to tomatoes to asparagus to almonds and walnuts to dairy products. Until high-tech took over, the Santa Clara Valley had lots of fruit orchards and vineyards.

Fishing, lumber, mining, and oil used to be really big as well, though the Enviros have hurt those industries rather badly (and agriculture, too).
