My dad is a former Marine. I wanted to be a Marine but when I went to enlist the recruiter asked me questions. When he asked me if I was allegic to anything and I said "bees" he sat back and said he couldn't take me. No one could. I walked out of his office and straight into the Army recruiter's office. When we got to the part that asked if I was allergic to anything I said "Nope." That was the begining of my enlistment.
I'm sorry. If anyone thinks that is wrong they can kiss my ass. I wanted to serve my country and I wanted to do it in a bad way. I doubt any enemy combatants would have thrown a fit had they known I was allergic to bees. I was a paratrooper and I was proud to be one.

Texacon, my statements weren't really directed at you, but to those that made some rather pointed accusations about Recruiters.
It's NOT my fault if someone fails to inform me of some potentially disqualifying factor. I worked very hard to get people into the Navy and I even put in some shady characters. Of course, I DID run the required waivers. I helped one guy enlist that was living on the streets of Minneapolis in the winter. Non High school grad that could barely pass the ASVAB. Turns out he had enough college/ Votech to make him the equivalent of a high school grad. He also had some criminal stuff in his background. ALL of this was on record when he went to process.
As far as a "values fail", one needs to walk in the shoes of a Recruiter before they make asinine statements and condemnations like that.
