Four of the write-ins just spelled Knebel wrong. They wrote it Knebbel, thinking the one on the ballot was a different person.
Steve-o ought to shave his neck so he isn't pointed out in public.

edit to mention, he did post a thread in the DUmp, this morning.  No mention of his staggering loss.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

This year, he got 44 votes.

Last year, he got 173 votes.

If the trend continues, the write-in might beat him next year.

The neckbeard has staffers out in the field as we speak, working to identify and interview the 129 voters who jumped off the Dawes bandwagon.

If he'd been able to hold onto those 173 votes, he would have finished a solid third instead of a distant third.

I'm dismayed by two things:

1. He managed to find 42 people to vote for him besides himself and his wife.

2. He didn't come in dead last. This is a staggering victory for him.
Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

No, the fact that he only avoided finishing behind the loopy Libertarian by three votes should be a source of great shame.

But DUmmies have no shame.  Mini-tacos, anyone?

For those who don't know, that was the Tea Party Republican who won.

He lost last November to the establishment Republican incumbent, and Compton in this race was the establishment.

I think this is the biggest story.  Chief Sweaty Pits should have this drummed into his considerably large backside every day of his remaining, worthless life.  If he could not beat an extremist teahadi, in this era of caving RINOs, at this low ebb of conservatism, then he should be exiled and never heard from again.
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

There is no evidence that Marta voted for him.

I imagine she's getting tired of paying the credit card bills for those damned yard signs, every time Steve runs for office.

Yeah, it is.

I consider myself an "establishment Republican," but I have no problem with the Tea Party starting to dominate; more power to them.  After all, this is what the people want, and so establishment Republicans need to take heed.

What many probably don't know is that Bellevue is a bastion of establishment Republicans; this guy lost, big time, to the incumbent the last time, and it wasn't just because the incumbent was, well, the incumbent.

The tide's rising, and establishment Republicans had better note it, so as to get a ride on the same tide.

The bottom line is that without the help of 'The Friends of Steve Dawes', Steve Dawes actually lost votes.  :rotf:

Only 44 votes and his platform was establishing a restaurant tax to soak the saps who frequent Bellevue's fine eateries.... how did he go wrong?

How much did the misfits kick in this time?

Not enough to buy a single mini taco if they were three for a dollar
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
