For those who don't know, that was the Tea Party Republican who won.

He lost last November to the establishment Republican incumbent, and Compton in this race was the establishment Republican.

The (L) candidate should give up this fantasy about a third party, and become an (R); he's bright, he's articulate, he's got good ideas, but he's going nowhere as a member of a third party.  He really wants the job, and it's a shame he ran behind, of all people, the big guy, but damn it, he has to think.

Yes. The election page says 959 votes were cast, but only 958 counted.

Well, another nailbiter of an election is over.  Time to sweep up the confetti and deflated balloons, drive around and take down the signs like decent people.  Why oh why didn't people want to swap a $10 lower gas bill with a $1000 higher property tax bill??  Why didn't "I am a tax and spend democrat" not resonate with the voters??
