The poster is using a post at DU to advocate that other DUers not donate to DU. That's a pretty shitty thing to do, and should be hidden. Also alerting for TOS, so admins can see that she's using their site to shit on their site.

So let me clarify a few things.
This is an action I AM TAKING. IF people chose to, or not, to donate to DU, that is their own personal decision.
Bullying is a serious issue. That thread has included words like, the person getting bullied deserves it, or my all personal favorite, **** YOU.
Oh I gave up on alerts a long time ago. It is like going to the teacher, or the principal, it is my fault. There really is not one iota of accountability for these people (before you say it, they are on ignore and the list continues to grow., and will continue to grow)
Now, we have had this conversation over the last few years. All I have asked for YEARS is that COMMUNITY STANDARDS be followed regarding harassing and bullying. At this point I am reminded of my years in school.
So yes the bullying started early, like in Kindergarten. Over the years, it evolved into actual physical assault. Yet, according to school administration, and others, like here. I was the one who brought this on because I could not play well with others. Well the fact that I was different, due to knee surgeries led to a lot of that, and there is plenty of psychology on this.
Suffice it to say, if FINALLY the standards of purpose stop pretending that this behavior is not accepted, then I will gladly give to DU.
So next time we have a kid commit suicide after repeated bullying in school, or worst, goes and shoots up the place... look in the mirror. This is our avoidance of this as much as we can. It starts exactly by tolerating it in any environment, that includes this place.
Oh and the solution that our own bullies want, and those who defend it, is exactly the same my school administration recommended in the end. LEAVE. Oh they never quite came out and said it in so many words, but their lack of action when it came to the bullies spoke volumes, even after an actual physical assault, leading to fists and myself physically defending myself. The only reason I was not expelled was there were plenty of witnesses, but the kid doing the assaulting never faced the music either.
Yes, to this day, I cross the road when rarely I see my class mates. I told them, there was a school reunion this year, to basically **** off... If any of them should live or die I care little for them. And yes, they brought me to some deep depression in school. This is what bullying does.
So I now know that bullying is a progressive value, or at least one encouraged here.
So yes, I laugh.
Now be open about it, stop pretending we have some sort of community standards and I promise to give some money I can ill afford. But really.
I know for some the issue they have, let's be brutally honest, is that I am a woman, and I actually have extensive knowledge on a few fields, well that is YOUR PROBLEM, not mine. This is part of our anti intellectual tradition, again, another progressive value.
As is the number of issues that cannot be discussed on this place, just continue to grow, including one that is like breaking nooz or something... but hey. at this point it also increasingly looks like echo chamber is where we are moving. So be it.
I really do not need to see the long list of IGNORED, who will continue to grace this site with the usual venom, and zero accountability. But serious, all I asked for all these years was for this to be done, for those mythical community standards to actually be enforced. You expect me to pay for the privileged of getting followed by a group of people who quite frankly remind me of those people all the way to kindergarten?
And like them, these folks are non entities in my life anymore. Hell, I no longer check to see how many of them have, or have not gotten pizzas. Quite honestly, once you go there, you are a non entity. Whether other people give to DU, or not, matters little to me. Nor do I expect people to join me, nor did I ask for people to join me. I just said, my wallet is closed and this is the reason... the bullies have had zero accountability for years. And lord knows I not only bought starts every fund raiser, but bought them for others as well. I will ask, that if and when they program that ability back, please no star for me. I really do not want any money given, until either this is dealt with, or we admit that we have really no community standards.

Same here, only my brothers made me quit. I only played in the neighborhood games- parochial schools didn't allow girls to play tackle at all & there were no mixed sports either.

In most cases, folks whose appearance is as sideshow-freaky as nutcase nadin are introverted, retiring, unobtrusive, quiet.
She's the opposite: loud, offensive, aggressive, and arrogant.
But she's also unintentionally the most hilarious DUmpmonkey since TomInTib took the pipe.
Rather than speculate on the reason, I'd prefer to just appreciate the entertainment that such a nutball provides us.

There are people who I find far more annoying than you apparently find Nadin. The solution is for me to ignore them, if they were to bother me to the point where they affect my participation here. If I choose not to, that is on me, not them.

I have a wild theory or two about Nads. NO.1====She is a brilliant mole, sees herself as a double agent of sorts [ another carear ] No.2===== She has never been very good at anything she does, years of living alone while husband was at sea and HIM getting all the praise. I bet you her own family treated her as if nothing she did was good enough for them. Perhaps they felt she had married beneath her. OR perhaps it it is hubby's family that think he married way beneath himself.
What ever, I have seen woman like her that were insufferable, so full of hate and envy, worse were the COB's wives, darn now the "Do you know who I am" ??? Fortunately I never had to deal with those crazy women, the COB's wives on the boats my hubby rode were absolutely wonderful. All too willing to get up in the middle of the night when they received a distress call from a crew mans wife.

If my understanding, as a layman, of the law is correct, two parties in a dispute have to agreed to give the other party something, and the other party gives the first party something in exchange.
No such thing as a one-sided deal; both parties give, both parties take.
Otherwise, the "contract" has no force of law (?)

A record of accurate reporting does. Association with a well-recognized publication does. Careful and constant adherence to journalist standards does. Those are the credentials of a journalist. Without those, a piece of paper stating that a person is a member of the press is worthless.

As a universe of tolerated activities that lead to depression and suicide. I have made it an important thing to bring up since I had very personal experience growing up.
I even used to believe this was not a progressive value. After all it happens at other places. The last few years have made me reconsider this. Bullying is a progressive value and community standards mean less than the ones and zeroes used to produce them.
That my friend is the conclusion to draw from this. Next incident were people cry over innocent young victims, well how do you prevent that in school, and workplace, or speak against it, when you allow it? That is the point

Don't be too fooled by that Skins's island seems a beehive of activity.
Best guesses are that there's circa 5,000 primitives at the most, but more likely circa 3,500 now that the election's over and things have quieted down.
And there's tons of primitives who pay no attention, no attention at all, to the oblate spheroid; they don't read her stuff, they don't comment upon her stuff. And that's probably the majority of the primitives.
Like, for example, has anyone ever seen the sparkling old dude, or Cryano, or the pie-and-jam primitive, or Atman, or other PoP, sitting around at a nadin campfire?
If it's as high as a hundred, which is possible, that's perhaps about half her whole entire audience

That totally defeats the purpose.
Since I put vestanumbers on ignore, I never see her stupid comments unless someone quotes her (which is an obnoxious thing to do).
The crazy bald dwarf put DUmmy Sid Dithers on ignore, but she still looks every time he posts on one of her threads.

Your argument seems to be that you are a victim of constant bullying.
You do not seem to argue that bullying is an epidemic at DU.
Most of the people responding have not taken the charge seriously but a few sympathizers have agreed that there seems to be a particular pattern of several people who tend to hop on your threads with some kind of chip on their shoulder.
No one seems to be arguing that there is a pandemic problem of bullying here (and if that were the case I don't think that you would want to stay here even sans star).
So my question is why do you think that you have become the object of bullying in particular and not some other poster. Is it that there is a group of bullies that select someone out at random and you happened to be the unfortunate choice and should you leave they would simply find another victim, or is there something particular about your posts that has drawn the bullies to follow you?
I also wonder about how you remain so well informed about the replies of some of the people who apparently were on your ignore list.
