As to the owners. They won't do a thing until somebody does something dramatic and they get sued in a court of law... All I have asked for years is that they actually enforce the rules, alas they chose not to.

It's sort of surprising this sort of hyperbole doesn't earn a tombstone, if Skimmer and his dull-witted flunkies ever read meta threads.

On the other hand, maybe they enjoy the entertainment.

If my understanding, as a layman, of the law is correct, two parties in a dispute have to agreed to give the other party something, and the other party gives the first party something in exchange.

No such thing as a one-sided deal; both parties give, both parties take.

Otherwise, the "contract" has no force of law (?)

Okay, so my fellow alum Skins gives all this real estate to the oblate spheroid to romp and play and smear her persona all around it.

But what does the oblate spheroid give my fellow alum in exchange?

Insults, bad-mouthing, whining, complaining--and I doubt that's considered a "benefit" to Skins in exchange for his "benefit" to her.

Some dude on DU used to post all the time about how righteous it was to ride a bike everywhere. I finally followed his advice and got rid of my car.

I wonder whatever happened to him.

A record of accurate reporting does. Association with a well-recognized publication does. Careful and constant adherence to journalist standards does. Those are the credentials of a journalist. Without those, a piece of paper stating that a person is a member of the press is worthless.

The shouting down and attempts of humiliation, the anger towards people not agreeing because they are 'less than' and couldn't possibly be as smart as she is. There is a huge history on that resume.

So, I do agree bullying can leave it's marks, but so can other things - the things she does.

BTW, when I say I don't give a ****, that means first of all that I don't give a **** about the "bullying" which I suspect is an exaggeration on your part. (If you do not receive threats to your real name and address, it's not bullying. However, if you are receiving real threats to your real name and actual current address, then yes it is bullying. I do not know enough about your DU situation.)

But you are still posting here after years of complaining about others bullying you.

You should know, after several jobs dealing with the public, that some people are just jerks. They are 10x jerkier behind a cheeto-stained desktop screen.

As a universe of tolerated activities that lead to depression and suicide. I have made it an important thing to bring up since I had very personal experience growing up.

I even used to believe this was not a progressive value. After all it happens at other places. The last few years have made me reconsider this. Bullying is a progressive value and community standards mean less than the ones and zeroes used to produce them.

That my friend is the conclusion to draw from this. Next incident were people cry over innocent young victims, well how do you prevent that in school, and workplace, or speak against it, when you allow it? That is the point
of this, as you said put in perspective and speak of underlying social values.

Except in Nads case, she provides incredible detail about her life to include links.   She is a very needy person. 

When you need the attention of total strangers to have a sense of self worth, then it is time to re-evaluate your life.

Nor would she ever have reason to tag them as "bullies" to begin with. Ignore only works if you actually use it and actually DO ignore the people on the list. Nadin has NEVER done that by her own choosing and despite countless people telling her that her own choice in not using the Ignore function as it was intended and choosing instead to continually engage with those people she insists are bullying her. She's spent years bringing all this angst on her own self when ALL she had to do was put those people that annoyed her on Ignore and ACTUALLY ignore them. SIMPLE.

But no, all these years she's chosen to engage with those people that annoy her, not use the Ignore function and/or not use it effectively by ACTUALLY ignoring those people on her list, bully herself anyone that disagrees with her about anything and continually blames absolutely everyone else for the chaos she created herself and utterly refuses to do anything about insisting that somehow that's everyone else's job.

I admit my guit lies in demanding that community standards be followed and in pointing out how serious this is. Being blamed, that started in kindergarten so what is new? FYI in HS I had suicidal ideations, and I was blamed for it as well.

Don't be too fooled by that Skins's island seems a beehive of activity.

Best guesses are that there's circa 5,000 primitives at the most, but more likely circa 3,500 now that the election's over and things have quieted down.
