On the run, I prefer Dunkin Donuts...at home...I like Chock full o'Nuts or a flavored coffee from Target's brand....usually chocolate rasberry. I do like Barnie's White Christmas blend as it has a hint of coconut.
I like Starbuck's specialty drinks, but their regular coffee tastes like tar....
Last time I was in Jamaica, I bought a few Blue Mountain coffee packs....not all it is hyped to be.
Any coffee snobs here? :-)
-
Seattle's Best or Tulleys.
Not a fan of Tarbucks. I'll only go there if I have no other choice.
Oh for the days I can move back to Seattle again with a coffee stand on every corner. Guess I'll have to settle for my Thanksgiving trip in a couple of weeks.
-
Caribou Original, Caribou Daybreak and Coffee People's Kona Blend are some that I'm digging right now.
-
On the run, 7-11. But at home, whatever is on sale. I am a sucker for flavored creamers. Vanilla or Hazelnut.
-
Coffee...COFFEE NOW!!!
(I loved PCU)
And yeah, when I can afford it, I get a couple of pounds of Kimo Bean 100 percent Kona Peaberry. Not cheap, but yum.
And when I can't, Folgers Black Silk or Dunkin Donuts darker roasts. I rarely buy coffee out of the house. It's either what I have at home or what they have in the shop.
-
Mmmmmmmm....coffeeeee....*homer drool*
Out and about: Einstein Bros. Bagels Vanilla Hazelnut Coffee
Special occasion at-home coffee: Seattle's Best Cinnabon Coffee
Not special, just normal: Folger's Classic Roast
-
I actually like Mickey D's new coffee. The lattes are excellent.

Since they've gone to their regular Pikes Peak version, I haven't minded it. On days when I forget my Folgers, I buy a cup of that and it suits me fine.
When they used to have a "coffee of the week" or day or whatever, I found I could never find one that I liked. They all tasted burnt to me.

Watery and weak...here anyway. I had some at a McD's in Dallas that was okay.
-
Coffee black and strong
-
'San Antonio' coffee from HEB, and Constant Comment tea.
-
Since my wife hates the smell of coffee, I don't get any in the luxury of my own home. In the office, I usually buy Boyers Java Blend and make it double strength.
-
I spent too many years in Germany:
Jakobs Kronung or Tchibo
Going grocery shopping on a Saturday morning and walking by a Bäckerei - I dare you, especially when the coffee is brewing. It's like I died and went to heaven.
Here in the U.S. where coffee is gauged by how much crap people can stuff in it, I'll take 8 o'Clock French Roast - whole beans only.
Mrs E and I grind our own beans.
Oh, and I drink my coffee black. Don't even think of putting that goop in my coffee.
-
I'm like D6's wife....can't even stand the smell of coffee or even mocha flavored stuff.
I do love Starbucks Double Chocolatey Chocolate Chip frappacinos with no whip. They are like rich chocolate milk blended with ice. It's the only thing I will get from Starbucks....I don't even like their tea.
I'm an herbal tea drinker...I know, I know, it's not the real thing. But I like Bigelow's or Lipton's....apple cinnamons, orange, lemon. And I like Constant Comment decaffeinated, but I rarely drink it any more. I only drink tea hot, with a little bit of Splenda. Before I gave up the real thing....I loved Constant Comment.
Pilot has the best hot chocolate. Mix in some of their French Vanilla creamer and it's awesome. It also has a gazillion calories. ::) It's a treat if I'm out and about and the weather's cold.
-
I do not require any additives in my coffee. Straight black is good for me.
If money is not an option I will purchase a Sumatran blend, or Kona. Blue Mountain is ok.
Community Coffee~ New Orleans Blend with Chicory is my standby at home.
I also only drink Luzianne black tea for my iced tea.
Habits die hard.
-
Almost any true Kona or Jamaican Blue Mountain, med roast. Haven't had any in years.
100% of course.
-
Dunkin' Donuts...one of the franchised stores close to me sells all sizes of their coffee for .99, including the xtra large so it's become my morning routine. I love their coffee and when I had a coffee maker, I would make it at home. I waste too much coffee brewing it though so this works out better for me.
Aside from that, I actually like Starbucks Pikes Peak as well.
There is a local coffee shop by my house too that also has excellent coffee.
Either way, I like half and half and splenda in mine :cheersmate:
Oh and I also love Starbucks seasonal drinks. Peppermint or gingerbread..the yum!
-
Mocha Limu from Taylor's of Harrogate.
To effing die for.
-
I'm not a coffee snob.
I just roast my own and own a super-automatic espresso machine that cost more than many people's cars.
I like the Indonesian coffees, particularly the Sumatras.
I also like Yemeni and Ethiopian coffees, but they are getting silly in price.

You've graduated to Coffee Snobdom when you write "espresso" instead of "expresso."

Why ?? Because he spells it PROPERLY ?!?!?!?! :hammer: :hammer:
I buy whole bean Columbian Supreme from Sam's Club and grind it myself. It does the job and is affordable.
-
I'll drink pretty much any coffee. I'm pickier about tea. I really like genmaicha tea, which is green tea with toasted rice. Very tasty :-)

Uh...Thor?
Did you somehow miss the smiley within my post? You know, this one: :-)
Where I come from, that means "I'm joking."
You owe me a new skull, since you cracked mine. Frickin' swabbie.
Look here ---------------------------> :-)
-
Maxwell House, Hills Brothers or Folgers, but I buy the darkest blend, and make it extra strong.
-
Got some boxes from FedEx today of "Santa's Buzz" from Coffee People I ordered the other day. It's supposedly good...
-
D&D Regular if I'm in a hurry or working
Starbucks Hot White Mocha if I'm stressed or trying to relax
Mary Lou's when I'm back home on the Cape
After dinner is plain-old Lipton hot tea
-
Starbucks Pepperming Mocha and Gingerbread latte's during the Holiday season are great...
Tea, I only really like chamomile(twinnings or bonbell) ..and that's when I want to de-stress
Hot Chocolate, nothing beat Swiss Miss with marshmallows and whipped cream.
-

I make it with milk and add a shot of Frangelica....or white Creme de Menthe....or Creme de Cocoa...or Amaretto...whipped cream and chocolate shavings or spinkle of cinnamon....

Just noticed the Starbucks in the kroger had the sign for those lattes. I love them both too, but am inclined to split the first one since it's loaded with calories, but mmm is it heaven in a cup! Their seasonal lattes really are awesome though--I'm inclined towards the gingerbread one as well

So much yumminess, so short a holiday season.

One of the things I make for Christmas presents is home-made hot chocolate mix. Put it in cutesy little "holiday" containers and take several chocolate peppermint sticks (Hershey makes them) and tie a ribbon around the sticks. I also do spice tea mix and do ribbon tied cinnamon sticks.
-
Any dark roast. I have espresso mixed in for that extra kick sometimes. I like to add sugar, mocha and creamer. Most of the time, I might skip the sugar and just add flavored creamer. And ALWAYS whipped cream.
Starbucks. Christmas Blend coming out soon.....
Teas. I love Earl Grey with sugar. And as always, sweet tea.

Well the starbucks girl told me you can get the peppermint mocha latte all days of the year(minus the chocolate shavings)...but it's advertized during the Holiday season. She said it's just a latte with mocha and peppermint syrup...I'm not sure about the gingerbread one.

want me to adopt you? :-*
I decided several years ago that it's too darn hard to find Christmas presents for several of those I give gifts to...and I would just make stuff instead.
I have 2 admin assistants, an office manager, and a broker...all women... and they get gifts from just about everyone in the office which is close to 100 agents!! It's impossible to get them something different that doesn't cost me a fortune.
Last year I did gift bags with the chocolate and tea stuff above, a mug, little loaves of pumpkin walnut bread and apple raisin pecan bread, spiced almonds and pecans. I think I added a few other things too, but can't remember what...
I bought containers at the Dollar Tree for the chocolate and tea mixes, and for the nuts. They came 2 or 3 for $1, the mugs were $1 each, and I also got the little bread tins, colored cling wrap, cinnamon sticks, and tissue paper.
They were happy, and each thing I made, made enough to do gifts for 3 others.

Great ideas...I was just searching online for ideas for gifts for the boss...I give my manager and my director gifts every year and was running out of ideas...home-made cookies and stuff is a good idea....now if I only had the time......
I get gifts from my staff, but usually wine and liquor...they must think I'm an alcoholic. :uhsure:
-
My peeps have too much crap. They are getting something like the above from me. I am gonna bake all my Mom's standard cookies and send em to her. She is near blind and can't bake like she used to. I would love to get that spice tea recipe, for other peeps.
-
I'm not sure I'm even supposed to TELL another living soul about this, but I THINK I learned how to make the brew from the 'Goat Locker' from my father. Being sworn to secrecy himself on the matter, the degree of feedback on the subject was somewhat limited.
-
Tazo Awake Tea is my current favorite with honey, milk and grated ginger root.
Traditional Medicinal ThinkO2 really can give my brain a boost.
I've also been drinking a lot of Salada's white tea.
Occasionally, as a treat I will have a mocha.

The bread recipes were from Paula Deen. If you go online and google her recipes...look for the applesauce bread and pumpkin bread recipes. I know I used chunky applesauce for the one and I added raisins to the pumpkin, and nuts to both. I don't remember if they were in the recipes. I doubled the recipes and got 8 mini loaves from each. Dollar Tree has the mini tins for the bread....I think there are 3 to a pack. If you are going to use mini tins, you need to get them as soon as possible, they sell out at this time of year.
Dollar Tree also has Reynolds Cling Wrap in colors...for $1 a box. I bought the green and blue (for my Jewish friends)...the red was sort of anemic looking.
Tots.....I used Lipton instant tea, the lemon one, but non sweetened. I couldn't find Tang, so ended up using Crystal Light orange - but I bought Kroger's brand of the stuff - it was quite a bit cheaper. Added cinnamon and a bit of ground clove. I just read the quantity on the back of the tea for how much it would make, and added one extra container of orange for the same quantity. (If I can do that type of math - anyone can :thatsright:) I ended up drinking about 3 cups of the stuff before I was happy with the mix...needed to add more cinnamon and clove. ( I mixed it up in a big mixing bowl) I did have to go buy more tea....it took more to fill the containers than I thought it would.
I bought Christmas address labels and ran them through my printer. I did "From the Kitchen of The Enchanted Cottage" on each and then what it was. Enchanted Cottage Events is what my friend and I named our "side business".....
-
Awesome. Thanks for the ideas. I have never had a bad Paula Deen recipe. That tea looks easy enough. :cheersmate:

Oh yeah, I have been DYING to make that bread pudding with krispy kremes.
-
If on the run, Wawa coffee. I don't think I've seen it mentioned anywhere in this thread, but if you find yourselves in the mid-atlantic region -- NJ, eastern PA, DE, MD, VA -- and you need to find good coffee without having to pay $5 or more a cup, stop at a Wawa store. If I ever move out of the area, Wawas are something I would seriously miss!
At home, I make a dry mix in a giant coffee can of 2 bricks of ground Caribbean espresso, a heaping cup (more like 10 oz) of Rainforest Crunch from CoffeeAM (they're in GA) and 3 small packets of French Vanilla (the kind that states it makes a potful on the outside of the package). This usually lasts us a month before I have to make up another batch. It's a serious AM eye-opener!
-

I like Krispy Kremes...but that one just seems over the top for me.
I did buy a panettone though to make bread pudding. It's a dense Italian cake with orange and raisins.

I kind of didn't have a choice. I could continue drinking caffeine and have issues, or I could quit. I opted for the quitting. Mine wasn't coffee though, it was tea. :(

Caribou Original, Caribou Daybreak and Coffee People's Kona Blend are some that I'm digging right now.
I'm using a bad of Caribou now, I don't always drink coffee at home and go for weeks without it. I also switch it up a little, buying whatever is on sale.

Caribou has some good roasts, for sure. One of the better large, American roasting companies.

A couple of years ago, we were going to a UTn tailgate on a cold, cloudy November Saturday for a noontime game.
I made several containers of hot chocolate and took pint bottles of the alcohols and the squirt containers of whipped cream. I think I used 4 or 5 gallons of milk.
The other half said only the women would drink the "sissy" drinks (I cleaned that up somewhat :uhsure:).
Ha! All the guys converged on the hot chocolate "bar" .....and the stuff disappeared while we women were setting up all the food. By the time I got a chance to get some, there was about half a cup left. :(

Ah HA! So blame the guys who, upon seeing that the situation was firmly in control, decided to supervise and otherwise kick back and watch the setting-up activities by the women. That's perfect!
Meanwhile, who's got a nice glow going inside their tummies? The guys or the gals?
The only fault I'm seeing is from the gals who failed to see what a tailgate is truly all about!
EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF!!!!1111!!!!!

Yeah....all the guys were raving about it.....
Who knew a bunch of manly men would go nuts over hot chocolate? :thatsright:
Normally, for early games....they were Bloody Mary/Screwdriver drinkers. :clueless:
When we went to the games (before the required "donation" for 4 season tickets went up to $10k a year) we were involved with a group who really knew how to tailgate. About 30 regulars and many visitors. It was very elaborate with planned menus and looooootttttttttttts of alcohol....including moonshine cherries and jello shooters. Our group won "Tailgate of the Year" one year....
