So I really debated about this. Add to the previous, and glorious thread? Or create a new thread, as this is a new chapter in the MVD parable?
If mods feel this should move, please do so. But lets get on with the latest episode of "woah is me" with Matt/MVD.

Well my disability claim was denied
For my SSDI claim, they said I did not provide enough evidence that I was legally disabled before age 22.
For my SSI claim, they focused on my hearing and said while my condition is severe, it is not severe enough to prevent some work.
I disagree strongly on both points. I want to appeal. Should I get a disability attorney right away? Can they be low cost or free? I am supposed to appeal within 60 days.
Very disappointing but not surprising. I know many people have to apply many times before it being granted.
Poor Matt. Skunked again by life.
mvd (64,342 posts)
10. So sorry. That shows how callous they are
My ear doctor said my results were like being legally deaf, but no, not severe enough for them.
"Like being legally deaf.." :lmao:
Lurking Muppets. This is DR. code words for, "youre crazy". Or quite possibly, "im not putting my medical degree on the line for your brand of stupidity".

So that route could be tried. Thanks
So whats the plan when Oz is elected?

14. I have found it best to
get the best attorney you can afford. In my case it saved me way more than what I spent on a great attorney.
Well, we have seen in the past that Matt paid his Uber Driver with an old Vacuum. Not sure how much money he has. Maybe he needs to start a fundraiser. :lmao:
mvd (64,342 posts)
20. Yep, first denial
The full medical records were not released and they all should be when I appeal. Thanks all - I knew DUers would know what to do.
So much to unpack in that sentence. Get denied for disability? Ask the experts at the DUmp. :lmao:

Okay, I wanna know which on of y'all has been running MVD as yer sock puppet for over 64,000 posts.
It's been common knowlege here at the 'Cave for years that the only subject for which the DUmp denizens are undisputed masters is the ability to scam the gub'mint welfare teat, acquiring as much as possible from their hard working, tax paying neighbors for as little effort as humanly possible.
Whoever it is that's used their mole MVD to soak the DUmmies out of so much of their hard-grifted EBT cash, I salute you most sincerely. :usflag:

Well Matty, the issue is that your too lazy to get a job!

And this is no shit, a friend of mine's brother mangled a toe in a mower accident. His doctor suggested a total toe removal to increase the insurance he would get from his employer. (it was an optional operation, the toe could have been saved.) He chose to lose the toe and gain the cash.
And the same situation was often talked about when I worked in the mills one summer. Quick way to make a few bucks and get a few weeks off.
They walk among us ( just some with a bit of a limp :) ).
-
Considering the government loves to hand out money and they are denying the OP that implies there is less wrong with OP than we are led to believe.
-
How DARE they make me work like everyone else has to when I want to sleep until noon then drink booze and smoke MJ all afternoon and evening?
-
they said I did not provide enough evidence that I was legally disabled before age 22.
The primitive realizes that he's a loser and is facing a lifetime on the fringes of society and on top of that he's expected to have to work too.
Sad!

29. I'm pretty depressed about this even though I knew..
probability of denial was high. I spent almost a year on this claim. My hearing is almost non existent without hearing aids. Even people here can probably tell I am different and that is because of my autism.
I am reduced to the idea of allowing my friend to rent my garage. Very hard times. I want to put the GoFundMe up but not if it causes more drama and stress for me.
Different, huh? Maybe your just a leach and drain on society?
And now talk of a new GoFundMe. I have no doubts that hilarity will ensue.

I'll just about guarantee he hasn't thought far enough ahead to realize the substantial legal difference between a home owner and a landlord.

Of course not. Why bother when you're living off the back of your mom for 35 years longer than any human being should ever be forced to carry a papoose.

Everyone saying that you are a DUmbass everyday is sort of a diagnosis. :-)

30. You know,
you can make about 15 bucks an hour at pretty much any fast food joint and they very commonly hire people with disabilities. Hearing loss shouldn't be a roadblock at all.

31. It IS
Try saying “what” to virtually everything. There is a reason it is listed.
So, yes there has been consideration of getting a job. And, why its just an unsurmountable obstacle. What ever will he do? :whatever:
-
Sorta bouncy: was at a local taco bell awhile back. This area has a high population of deaf due to the school nearby. A gentleman jumps out from behind the fake bushes near the counter and starts motioning angrily. The cashier doesn't sign, so she puts up a finger to tell him to wait. She goes to the back and a black guy comes out. He starts signing fast, ended by pointing to the door. First guy leaves. Turns out his parents are both deaf and he hates dealing with entitled deaf people. Needless to say, hearing empairment doesn't preclude employment

36. How many
jobs have you applied for so far?
There are plenty of places who will work with you.
I work with some blind folks and assist them with things like shopping, etc, and 2 of them work part time jobs. They aren't making 100K a year, but they are doing pretty decent and getting along.
Have you given it a try? Many of these places are very accommodating.
Once again, as in the previous thread, ForgedCrank is trying to encourage Matt to get a job. I think we all know where this advice will up. After all, Matt living his carefree lifestyle of mooching will not be jeopardized by "getting a job".

If MVD worked as hard at a job as he does at mooching and leeching, he'd be the manager/mangler/stuporvisor of something by now.

47. It's not simply
a matter of if people care or not. DU members has proven over the past year through your many gofundme promotions that they care about others, but you are asking a lot of people, and some of those have very little to give, so it's time to be frank and address it rather than ignore the posts asking you about it.
I think you are at that point now where you are going to have to address the elephant in the room if you are going to ask DU'ers for more free money. I don't speak for anyone but myself, but I don't believe this is an unpopular thought that I have going on here.
Why is it that you can't get at least a part time job to help your situation? Better yet, what are the reasons you CAN go get a job? There are plenty out there and willing employers.
I've seen people with pretty serious disabilities working for their money. You appear to have acceptable communication skills, you can navigate the doctor, the disability interviews, etc, and you can communicate pretty well with your posts. You can hear well enough to speak on the phone, communicate with the Uber drivers etc, so what is the obstacle for you and how can you work on that?
You're going to have to get brutally honest with yourself and act accordingly at this point. Every day that you put it off makes your situation more serious, and more difficult to correct, and charity from gofundme drives is not going to fix it. Neither is waiting years for a disability claim to finally be approved, if ever.
Talk to us about this, we are here to help, not just to be critical just for the fun of it, because this isn't fun at all. I'm trying to help you, but you have to be willing first, and you have to be able to make changes that you are obviously very resistant to making. Want is no longer an option for you, you have to for the sake of yourself AND your mother.
Exactly Muppet! Its our job to mock, ridicule, and make fun of you. :loser:

of his former fiancé’s place on October 1. But no interest now. I need to do something now.
I know as a newbie, I have no power of persuasion here. But, I nominate MVD/Matt for the "Lack of Self Awareness" Award. The whole concept of "get a job" just flies over his head. :lmao:
So, lets say he rents out the Garage. The friend might need it for storage. How much are we talking here. Maybe $100 a month, or there-abouts?
Lurking Muppets. I believe you should go ahead and lube up. :naughty:

oh, we know full well it's coming. this is simply his primer thread, trying to get the wind direction and speed.
I'm guessing tomorrow, if not a late night sneak-it-in post hoping to avoid the radar alarms. our boy Matt isn't capable of reading the room very well, that has become quite obvious. Someone else said it already, but this lazy glob of sh** has no shame.
I have a feeling based on the primitives response to his nonsense that it won't go over quite so smoothly this time.
Even poo-pants Pam was on his case last time... she was all bent out of shape because she gave that grifter money and wanted it back. hahaha!
I do hope he is able to extract a few more grand out of those imbeciles before he is booted.

Could very well.
Im thinking Matt should simply say he got a job and its just not quiet enough to cover the ongoing costs. Ya know, another big electric bill or water. Its going to get shut off... :panic:
That pesky "job" suggestion is going to be holding back his fund raising.
Lurking Matt/MVD. Im not saying you should lie to your fellow worthless DUmp muppets, but they expect you to get a job. Its not like they can verify your employment. Then, who knows, your a little short on payday. You need a little help. Know what Im saying? :-) (pro tip: read that in your best Mafia Voice)

MVD also does not get that you cannot pay ongoing expenses with one-time $$. Jobs provide weekly/bi-weekly/etc. $$; GFMs and GSMs (Go Scam Me) are one-time $$.

Had to deal with mom in hospital 3 times and she does like a psychiatrist but paying her may be an issue. The social worker is supposed to come next week. I understand jobs but want to get through this month’s emergency. I have never worked and that is for a reason. But keeping everything as options - have to.
Uh huh. SO it looks like Matt just needs to get thru this month. Oct. will be his break-out month! He will be hitting the streets, beating on doors, filling out job applications.... He just needs a little help right now. :whatever:

I really don't, mvd. I am sorry- but- upthread you stated that you do not want to use a food pantry.
If I have been reading your threads and gofundme's correctly- your water and power will be shut off soon. That was not worth an uber trip to the grocery store.
You also wrote that "you wonder if people still care." If DUers didn't care, they would not have offered you all the suggestions they have. Sometimes "caring" means "no more money."
You are very young (compared to me)- I had a tough row to hoe in my forties too. You CAN do this. Getting a job will be hard, but you can do it.

67. Whats happening this month?
Why does whatever is happening monthly keep happening? As someone mentioned, it's time to take a hard look at expenses and re-tool. If you need food, don't be too proud and avoid pantries? Isn't that better than running up this "Instacart" thing you talk about?
Try to find how to cut back. I mean, it appears to be paramount that you bring superfluous expenses down. When you're in a hole, stop digging yourself deeper. I've never Ubered, but it doesn't sound cheap.
Do you understand what some of us are talking about? The money is just not there.
What happened this month? Well its simple lurking Muppets. Matt likes to spend other peoples money the same way the typical Politician does. When it runs out. Beg for more. Simple.
Hey thats an idea. Maybe MVD needs to run for office. Its a do nothing job, and you earn some coin. :p

I wish it was so easy. I have been finding some ways to cut back. I need to get out of this overdraft cycle. I am in such a hole right now though that I need some help right away.
Just so frustrating to be basically poverty level.
I was always good at not judging others but after going through this I know exactly how people feel.
Oh boy. Cue up the crocodile tears. :overreaction: :sosad:
And again with the supposed Overdraft fees. Running his checkbook like the .Gov?

Of course, a GFM is the quickest, easiest, passive way to wrack money up.
Joementum!

97. Sad. I see a lot of GFMs that make me feel crappy- the worst are for
funerals.
It's the new "private welfare," and GFM is getting rich off it.

99. It really is- we don't know who is behind the GFM's we donate to
Many times, especially here on DU, they tug on our heartstrings. I think Dems feel like they SHOULD be giving, and so they do.
I mean- we don't know mvd personally- I can make up stories in my mind (and I won't indulge them here)- but what he is writing COULD be and might be true.
Then again, he has shared his full name with us, and some of his background....so I know his father was a PhD research scientist that worked for the government...and I wonder why there is no pension? Why would a man of that intelligence buy a townhome that he knew his wife and disabled son would not be able to afford after his years long battle with cancer? Why didn't he leave an insurance policy? IF as mvd claims, why didn't his parents have him declared disabled two decades ago? mvd is obviously educated, obviously was upper middle class and clearly writes well. He would have done very well in jobs such as copywriting, content creation, or technical writing.
I will never know the answers to any of these questions. However, I DO know that it appears that he is addicted to the easy peasy money of GFM, and people usually don't attempt to stop their addictions until they are at rock bottom.
It's a rabbit hole of thought and a commentary on who we are as a country, and who we are as an online country.
I'm taking a liking to the BlackSkimmer primitive. He/she may be the first DUmmie I've ever seen that wasn't downright stupid or outright crazy.

I'll take a crack at it. My two guesses:
1. He's lying about his mother, she has plenty of money, not in danger of losing her home, but she's telling him it's time for him to put his big girl panties on and get a f'n job because the 45 year gravy train is over and she has to fund her retired life as well. Basically giving him an ultimatum to get out.
2. His mother is actually mentally-incapacitated but he blew through all of her savings because he brings NOTHING to the table, and is out of money.......along with his mother.....for whom the money was intended.
Take your pick. {Disclosure: These are just guesses and my opinion only}.

Back in 1999 a liberal who was being hooted off a discussion board left a parting snark for a conservative member who had mentioned his profession. The liberal snarked that on the Internet people can claim to be whatever they want, and almost no one will be able to disprove it. So MVD really could be the marginal dysfunctional person he claims to be - not that he sees himself that way - or maybe he's some lazy twit trying to get others to buy the latest gaming machine and games to play. Either way, a leech is a leech.

104. Thanks, all
Mom contacted her lawyer for names and they gave her one. Her lawyer can’t do it as it is not in his areas of practice.
Still waiting until the very last minute to ask for more GoFundMe help. I do want to get out of this myself.
No, what are you, an able-bodied mid-40's male, doing? Not your mom, you. What have you done? Besides blame everyone else for your own laziness?

A disability case?
