Oh my.
But this was hardly unexpected.

Dem's drop "safe, legal and rare" language from abortion position
Via Kay Steiger at Pushback:
It looks like the Democratic Party dropped the "safe, legal and rare" part of its platform on choice. The new platform (PDF), which was just released, puts less of an emphasis on the controversial abortion reduction framework. The section on choice reads as follows:
"The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman's right to choose a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.
The Democratic Party also strongly supports access to affordable family planning services and comprehensive age-appropriate sex education which empowers people to make informed choices and live healthy lives. We also recognize that such health care and education help reduce the number of unintended pregnancies and thereby also reduce the need for abortions.
The Democratic Party also strongly supports a woman's decision to have a child by ensuring access to and availability of programs for pre- and post-natal health care, parenting skills, income support, and caring adoption programs."

It's only a small bonfire right now, but the primitive comments are unsurprising.

1. Wow! What a wonderful improvement!
This is much better than the DLC "safe, legal and rare" nonsense that sounded very much like they thought it was icky doodle and were forced into accepting choice but would drop it at the first convenient moment.
This program will actually work, so of course it will be attacked by the dreamers.
You know, I've been watching the warped primitive for quite a while now.
The warped primitive, a femme, is late middle-aged, divorced, and at one time an R.N. (registered nurse), and a resident of Massachusetts, now a resident of the "desert" (Arizona or New Mexico or Nevada, one assumes).
The warped primitive has a great many commonsensical ideas about frugal living, cooking, home improvement, gardening, whatnot. In fact, next to the hippowife primitive, the warped primitive has become my favorite primitive, and I'm often loathe to criticize her.
The "image" one gets from reading the warped primitive is that she's a rather manly woman, stockily built and perhaps with some facial hair and a husky voice. If I were in a barroom brawl, I'd like to have the warped primitive on my side; if I were stuck in the snow, I'd like to have the warped primitive help push me out.
At the same time, the warped primitive is after all a woman, with the womanly desires to be appreciated, to be thought aesthetic, to be given flowers once in a while.....but one suspects that because of her manly appearance, the warped primitive's never been treated as a lovely woman.
People who have suffered much pain and rejection go one of two ways: the right way, where they develop a sensitivity to the pain and rejection of others, such as unborn infants wishing to live, or the wrong way, where they Hate all things good and decent and civilized.
I've always wondered why the warped primitive turned left, instead of right.

I thought that link said "feminfisting" up there and was worried that benburch hijacked the DNC platform.

Well this falls in line with what Obama has promised to do as soon as he's elected.
He's stated that the first piece of legislation he'll support is to make partial birth abortions legal under ANY circumstances and basically take any and all restrictions off of abortion on demand that we currently have. He also wants to remove the morality clause that protects doctors who do NOT want to perform them.
This is a man that managed to stall delay and kill a piece of legislation repeatedly in the IL State Senate that would require any aborted baby that lived to receive immediate medical care to save it's life.
This is a piece of legislation that even the Libtards in D.C. passed with a big majority.
It only got passed at the state level in Illinois AFTER Obama left for D.C.

Ya know. This country has been going down the crapper since that decision(legal abortion) was made.

I can understand the root of your comment, but alas, I cannot be hypocritical about abortion - even in jest. Maybe we can join together and advocate for mandatory sterilization at birth or shortly after?
-

The launch pad to hell was rolled into place ten years before that decision when Madelyn Murray O'Hair was victorious with her suit to throw God and Jesus out of our public schools.

Funny you mention that. I was going to include that within months of the O'hair decision, Kennedy was killed and The Beatles landed. It wasn't lost on me.

The country started downhill when the 19th amendment was passed and opined to be constitutional.
Hell, I could go earlier than that. The country started going downhill when the South was invaded by the North who felt federal power was more important than state power.

I don't think either of those was as dangerous as slapping God in the face.

Alex de Tocqueville came to America attempting to answer the question of whether or not Democracy in America was similar to Democracy everywhere else. That is to say a point on the road between Republicanism and either despotism or civil war. His hypothesis was that it is no different. He changed his answer based on the fact that in America the party out of power had no reason to stir trouble because they could seek to regain power in two years.
I wonder what he would think now. Taxpayers are effectively outnumbered by welfare program recipients and bureaucrats. The party in power no longer matters, because no matter who is elected the sheer massive size of the bureaucracy makes it impossible to effectively control.
George Washington commented that government like fire is a invaluable servant and a terrible master.

Really not a lot of difference between a 6 month old fetus and a 1 month old child. They're both in their developmental stages.
I'm not radical in the abortion topic, but you "On-Demand Abortion" folks really piss me the **** off. It's as if you get a rise out of it.

Untrue. One of the major points is that a newborn is not significantly more developed than the child murdered two weeks before the due date.
Also, there have been major debates about the "Born Alive Infant Act," which gives the right to life to children born alive during an abortion procedure. This act was vehemently opposed by none other than Mr. "Babies-are-a-punishment" Obama.
A woman has the right to do whatever she wishes with her own body. That right does not extend to the body of her child...at any age.

I'm all for reproductive freedoms. If you don't wish to have a child, by all means, you're free to keep your pants on. If that's too hard, there's a zillion varieties of rubbers and other devices you can get. Sure, I'd oppose any law that required a woman to get pregnant.
But as far as I know, there is no such law in America, not even in the Bible belt.

Airwolf, they won't allow that, because there would be a lot fewer DUmb****s in the world, if this were implemented.
