*** One of our own needs help - Bertha Venation and her beloved wife. Please read ***
Bertha Venation's wife had a serious accident on August 22. She was on a boat with friends; when they tied up at a dock, she went to step off the boat - but it moved, and she fell into the water, hitting her head on the dock. She suffered a gruesome injury and a concussion.
After several setbacks and complications, Kathy's wound is healing well. However, because of the concussion, she is unable to work, indefinitely. With major surgery and the deaths of both of her parents, her work leave has long been exhausted. She is a federal employee; they don't get disability insurance. And Kim (Bertha) is unemployed, so they have no income.
Their friend Lisa mounted a gofundme campaign. If you can help - even just a little - please do so. Thank you.

I thought Bertha worked for the state of Maryland, guess not. DFW has already donated, I see.

Setup for a government paycheck.

Drunk or high, no doubt.
Looking at the teeth on her could've been either option. Why can't Bertha Big Butt (remember that song from the 70's), given that she's the unemployed partner, have done whatever time consuming shit consumed her wife's time so that she had already blown through all her time off.
Or, instead of asking strangers to be kind to the two DuBois sisters, why doesn't Bertha get off her ass and find work? Nope, better to solicit online for money from suckers; after all, being a DUmmie is a full time job. :-)
-
Talk about being abysmally reckless.
Some people have only themselves to blame.
If one's seen pictures of Big Bertha's "wife," one would agree this is not someone who should go around riding boats and stuff; given her physical shape and size, she really shouldn't be riding in--and getting in and out of--anything more dangerous than a sedan chair or at the most, a golf cart.
Being the way she is, and riding on a boat, she was an accident waiting to happen.

Be funny if after hitting her head it turned her straight. Not that it would matter, as ugly as she is.

I always wonder: are they liberals because they don't mind begging for money from strangers online, or do they beg for money from strangers online because they're liberals?
If the answer is "both," then we have a tautology.

Okay now, I need unconfused.
Big Bertha's "wife" worked for the federal government for 31 years.
In other words, she's been what we call a "lifer;" hired to work for the government, all she was really interested in was collecting a big paycheck, the generous fringe benefits, and whatever freebies or discounted goods she could get.
Sort of like Hypertensive Bob in Colorado.
Disability insurance is available for governmental employees (federal, state, county, city), and it's insanely cheap. The only primitive I know who would be too stupid to take advantage of it, despite his near-lifetime of governmental employment, is the big guy from Bellevue, and he probably didn't take it because it wasn't mandatory and he would've had to contribute two or three bucks a month, when the big guy's always thought he was entitled to a 100% free ride on the backs of other people.
-
Three bucks back in 1991 paid for a lot of mini tacos.
-
Three bucks back in 1991 paid for a lot of mini tacos.
I'm sure the big guy spurned a lot of good deals available only to governmental employees because some sort of token payment was needed from him too, and the big guy's always been of the mind-set that he shouldn't have to pay a damned dime, even if only a dime, for a thing; that's for other people to do, not him.
I however thought Big Bertha's "wife" was smarter than the big guy.....as usually everybody else in the whole world is.

She's just another liberal. I wouldn't put any money on that bet.

You got to admit, though, that it's pretty hard to be stupider than the big guy.
It's like that dance--or whatever--where people have to wiggle underneath a horizontal pole that's placed increasingly closer to the floor.

$2,160 now raised; $8,000's the goal.

Actually frank federal employees do NOT have a short term disability program and the closest to long term is disability retirement.
http://www.fedweek.com/reg-jones-experts-view/short-term-disability-coverage/
My guess is this has continued since rattling her ailing liberal noggin long enough that she's exhausted her paid leave options and it's another year before she can claim a permanent disablity since the doctor is still hopeful she will recover.
Noe should this continue her coverage under disability retirement is quite comfortable but given her age she would likely be forced to straight up retire. What I don't get is why her fat ass 'wife' doesn't get some work sp that her partner can take the financial pain to put in for retirment. 31 years in federal service???? She's more then eligible and may even have made it under the wire for csrs doing even better then the FERS eligible employees that followed. Anyway all that to say therr are no short term disability options with federal employment.

Man, she sucked the govenrment teat longer and harder than her old lady's. That's hard to fathom.

Yeah well my dad's in the same situation and it's because he's pulling dead weight for a wife. Ie being 70 and in a good federal pension. He can't dream of taking the hit in income though carrying the 'love burden' he is. Something tells me old ample Bs partner is in the same boat or she could just consider retiring but apparently she's the only one currently and maybe for years pulling the financial no pun intended weight in this duo.

As a side note ever notice how these devoted dummie partners are heartbroken and willing to do anything..absolutely anything for thier loved one...well except work even when the cow theyve been milking is no longer able to. :whatever:

They are only generous with someone elses money.
That is honestly more then a cliche too,it is the core of their being in that they do not "owe" one thing to anyone as there is always some conspiracy theory out there as to why they were screwed and thus absolved of the social contract they demand everyone else pay for.

Actually frank federal employees do NOT have a short term disability program and the closest to long term is disability retirement.
We might be thinking of oranges and apples here, madam.
Governmental employees get all sorts of "offers" for this thing and that thing, provided they pay for it.
One gets life insurance, usually 100% paid for by the taxpayers, and medical insurance, which cost is shared between the bureaucrat and the taxpayers.
But then there's things available only to a specified group of employees (such as governmental employees) which, if an individual wants it, he has to pay for it. I dunno if it's still done or not, but there was a time governmental employees had access to lower automotive insurance rates than the general public through one company or another, and of course, yes, the individual had to pay the cost himself.
I've been both a state and federal employee--thank God not a lifer, as governmental employment (as compared with private employment) is the absolute worst thing a "handicapped" individual should undertake--and in both instances the "benefit package," or folder with brochures, included short-term and long-term disability insurance--again, which the individual had to pay 100% of the cost.
This was a "deal" because non-governmental employees, or governmental employees outside a specified group, had no access to such plans, whose main advantage was their dirt-cheapness.
The last one I recall was in 1996, when I was offered long-term disability--optional, and I would have to pay for it--at the cost of $1.25 a month.
I myself never took any of it, because the rates seemed so low--pocket-change per month--it was obvious the likelihood of one having to use it was nil to nothing, and I could think of better ways to spend pocket change.
But that's just me; Big Bertha's "wife," like Skippy or Hypertensive Bob, are obviously the sorts out to grab what they can, as much as they can, and as quickly as they can.
-
Frank I have current dealings. Trust me when I tell you there is no option for such a thing. Not as a part of any comprehensive benefits package. Anyone can get disability insurance outside of thier employer of that's what you are implying. And it is not cheap. Depending on one's age and health the premiums vary but I woukd guess a 70 year old woman is going to probably fall in the range of a woman of childbearing age ie higher premiums. That supplemental insurance cam cost 100 to 150 a pay period ie every 2 weeks that's pretty steep when I consider the 7 bucks or so a pay period I paid for it when in private employment as a broker. It's like saying I cam get life insurance with work if offered or outside of work. Those premiums vary greatly if ypu are dealing one on one with an insurer. Like you said a couple dollars to supplement through work but much higher on your own. Look frank I have no qualms with talking about the benefits of federal employment: flexible schedules, telework, generous leave, relative security but I will absolutely argue the point if I think something is being proposed that is inaccurate with current experience. Now could we argue at thier age they should have probably got a supplemental plan? Sure. Could Bertha working and contributing have helped assisted in paying those high premiums: sure. After 31 yeara should she be able to transition easily ibto retirement if necessary: sure. Those are the better arguments is that these two didn't plan effectively and likely so because one of them has deemed herself the lesbiana house wife. But getting a short term plan for disibility as a fed is neither cheap nor easy. It's one of those myths thay love with the idea that a federal employee pays no social security or gets cheap health insurance with no premiums. It simply is not accurate and hasn't been since the csrs days that ended for new employees in 1984.
Let's not apply misleading information just because you have one dummie who works there.
-
I'm not going to fix all those spelling errors. I'll just say damnable phone and leave it at that.

The numbers didn't move at all during the night it's $2,160, and $8,000's the goal.
One wonders how stewert, pamela, and the torched bitch primitive did in comparison, although one doubts they had any well-heeled donors, as Big Bertha's "wife" seems to.
She's got three $250 donations, one $200 donation, and five $100 donations, which isn't chump change.
Maybe the primitives are right; if some people got that much money to toss to the primitives, maybe they aren't paying enough in taxes, which they should rather be doing, letting the government take care of charity for Big Bertha's "wife."

But in the end it will be worth it.

Their gonna need a lot more than 2 grand to tide them over.....
I went back to check other primitive fund-raising efforts--the worthless freeloading bum stewert, Pamela, and the torched bitch primitive who wouldn't give up her dog to a better owner--but came up dry, as those fund-raisers had been closed (they probably should have never been opened, to begin with). I vaguely recall none of them had approached anywhere near their goals.
I'm not so sure Big Bertha's "wife" deserves much sympathy, either; a great big obese older woman has no business acting like a giddy agile teenager who can jump from one place to another with no problem. She needs always to keep in mind her age, size, and physical limitations.

One of the butt sisters!!!! Sock it to me!!!!
I always liked this part:
He'd go down to the lake where all the
woman would be swimming or washing clothes or something. He'd look
around and just reach in and grab one. "Come here...come here".
He'd grab her by the hair. You can't do that today, fellas, cause
it might come off. You'd have a piece of hair in your hand and she'd
be swimming away from you (ha-ha).
I loved that song.

I B Perky, I am sure the DUmmies really appreciated your tribute to their...folk dancing...
(channeling Brad Majors from the Rocky Horror Picture Show here)
However, you kind of owe the Neanderthals an apology, because they were undoubtably more erudite and civilized than the DUmp denizens.
When I typed the word undoubtably, it came up as being spelled incorrectly, and I racked my brains and could not figure out why it was so. I consulted the web and the explanation does not change my spelling:
Undoubtably and undoubtedly are both well-formed words with clear, distinct meanings, yet the former is often used in place of the latter, giving rise to the mistaken belief that undoubtably is always wrong. It’s not. The distinction between them can be subtle; something that is undoubted is not doubted, while something that is undoubtable is not capable of being doubted. The two meanings often overlap, which is why mixing up the two words is often not a serious error, yet the difference is occasionally important. For example, one might claim that in his or her opinion the Beatles are undoubtably the most influential rock band in history, yet we probably couldn’t say they are undoubtedly so, because even one who believes the Beatles to be the most influential band must acknowledge that there are rock critics who doubt this.
The link
http://grammarist.com/usage/undoubtably/
(Because I just know you were waiting with bated breath for this info :lmao:)
By the way, apropos of nothing except posting while under the influence of Bacchus, most specifically his grape, the Beatles were vastly overrated as a music group. I first heard them in second grade when all the girls were squealing over them and I thought, in my 6-year old mind, these people suck. I didn't have that kind of vocabulary, but yeah, they totally didn't do a thing for me, and still don't. I'm a Rolling Stones fan girl from the get go.
Anyway, Perky, I loved that song back in the day and you owe 2.9% of me an apology, since 23andme. com genetics says that's the part of me that's Neanderthal. I venture to say my 2.9% could still wipe the floor, logically speaking, with most of the DUmmies. :-)

As of this morning, after 20 days, it's still stuck at $2,305, and $8,000's the goal.
If it goes at this rate, the girls are going to have a mighty austere winter; they might even have to tighten those belts.

Well now, what's up with the kindest, most generous, most giving people on the internet, that they aren't donating?
After 21 days, it's still stalled at $2,305, and $8,000's the goal.
At this rate, Big Bertha and her "wife" are going to be reduced to dining on Ramen noodles they find in their food pantry boxes, for Thanksgiving. (As if that's something that would hurt them.)
Given how the primitives used to throw money around, one's surprised they're being so stingy here.

It's typical for the DUmp. Everyone wants to get, no one wants to give. You'd think, being the good socialists they are, the DUmmies who are well off would be more than willing to "redistribute" their wealth; however, they don't want to part with a nickel.

-
How will they feed 10 cats?
Yeah, that's got me concerned too.
Being primitives, Big Bertha and her "wife" think first of themselves,
Come crunch time, they're not likely to sacrifice anything so that the cats may be fed.
In fact, unless more money comes in, they may even rotisserie the poor cats.
This is why primitives shouldn't be allowed to own pets; they won't take care of them.

It's been ten days since the last donation, and the total's still stuck at $2,330; the goal's $8,000.
I think it'd be a good idea of Big Bertha just gave it all up, this unrealistic domestic situation, and go back to California, moving in with the folks.

Oh my, the fund-raising hasn't budged a bit, and I checked the long-term weather forecast for the Baltimore area, finding it's likely to be a cold, hard winter.
And with only $2,330--the goal's $8,000--the girls aren't likely to last it.
(By the way, I wasn't aware that Big Bertha's the "wife" in the match; I'd always just assumed she was the "husband," given that she's taller, much bigger, and more menacing-looking than the subject of this fund-raiser.)
In the interests of long-term survival, though, the girls really need to give up this charade, to stop this play-acting, to stop playing "house." It's silly, them imagining themselves a "normal" "couple." Big Bertha should probably pack it up, go back to California to move in with the folks, find a church, and advertise herself as available on the marriage market.....for a real spouse, in this case a real husband.
There's lots of fish in the sea, and I'm sure Big Bertha can find a man to make her happy.....and financially secure.

They remind of a lesbian couple that lives down the road from us, don't know their names, we just call em Tongue and Groove

Of course, I've had such as neighbors, or at least in the neighborhood--although not lately--but at least these women didn't play games, made no pretensions about being "husband" and "wife." They were simply same-sex roommates with an unusual degree of intimacy, nothing more than that.
I suspect Big Bertha's retarded her emotional growth and stability, her career, her chances at having a reasonably secure life, by this silly "playing house" the past, oh, thirty, maybe closer to forty, years.
What happened is so obvious even a blind man could see it. It's a pretty good guess that Big Bertha, when a little girl and a teenager, was perhaps chubby, rotund, even fat. And so the boys made fun of her, as boys are wont to do. Or maybe her first sexual experience with a male was embarrassing.
And so Big Bertha "decided" she hated men.
Geezuz, if we males reacted the same way whenever girls or women made fun of us, made merry of us, and decided we hated women, we'd all be gay by now.
That's one of the main problems with women; they always react to things too much; they're incapable of just letting things slide off.

Well, she scored another ten bucks; it's now up to $2,340, and $8,000's the goal.
Despite that encouraging uptick, one hopes Big Bertha's applied for food stamps and heating assistance for the winter, because the goal might be, uh, unrealistic, and we don't want the girls to have a DainBramaged type of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Maybe DB and the wives can meet over a holiday meal.

I'm wondering if walrus-face has sprung loose of this mortal coil some time the past three years; it wouldn't surprise me.

Aw, man, it's been six days since the last primitive donation, a measly ten bucks.
The fund's still stuck at $2,340, far short of the goal of $8,000, and probably the girls have already spent that.
Unless the primitives hurry up and come through, it's going to be a lean Thanksgiving for Big Bertha and her ill "wife;" they'll probably have to dine upon a stalk of celery cut into two pieces, half a walnut, and two cups of tea made from tea-bags already used three times.
If the bleak picture of that doesn't move the primitive hearts, then nothing will.

Big cow bitches eat lots of chow, frank. Especially when it's pizza, gourmet donuts and all you can eat buffets.

Well, here it is, Thanksgiving morn, and oh what a cold, wet, dreary one it is!
Maybe the weather's better over in Maryland; one certainly hopes so, for the sake of Big Bertha and pal, as this isn't likely to be a very merry day for them.
After one month, the fund stands at $2,340, which is where it's been stuck the past twelve days, and well short of the goal of $8,000. While excepting primitives such as Marc, who in fact opened their wallets to the odd couple, for the most part it doesn't seem the primitives are as caring, sharing, and compassionate as they boast they are.
Alas! poor Big Bertha and her one-woman cohort! Spending Thanksgiving splitting a celery stalk between them, each nibbling on a quarter of a radish, having parsley as the vegetable, and a single green grape, shared between them, for dessert! Alas!
-
It would be interesting to graph the tally of gofundme "needs" vs the actual charitable giving of the primitives.

Yes, and the biggest failures to twist the arms of their fellow DUmmies for their sloth funds should be in strong consideration for DOTY.

Something tells me that there is a better chance of hell freezing over than that fund reaching 8 grand.
I'm curious how that fund me thing works. Does the fund have to reach the goal before one gets the moola or can one take draws from it while it is reaching the goal? Anyone know?

I think he is still kicking because the Burger King on Rt. 22 west in Phillipsburg (NJ) is still in business.

Ouch.
It looks as if the girls had a sparse Thanksgiving, possibly leading to an even-more sparse Christmas.
After such a promising start, and after two months, the fund's still stuck at $2,340; the goal's $8,000.
So much for the much-touted generosity of the primitives.

Where is Buzzy ?
He is constantly trying to shame conservatives and compliment libs on their "generosity".
I guess with Buzzy, he is all bark and no tithe.
Buzzy, give till it hurts.
-
Oh good good good, the girls got another $10 this past day, bringing it up to $2,350.
Maybe they might have a Merry Christmas after all?
