Since the Proglodytes are all-aflutter over "The Interview"
« on: December 17, 2014, 11:31:00 PM »
a film whose plot has 2 American journalists granted an interview with Kim Jong Un. The CIA then recruits them to kill the North Korean dictator. Apparently the Norks are extorting US theater chains in real life to not show the film.

Many Proglodytes claim they find the premise of the film in poor taste. I was wondering if they were consistent in their complaints that films about assassinating heads of state was consistent if the film was the 2006 "Death of a President." For the most part, they surprisingly are.

But then I saw this:

5. It's consistent with my prediction that W will be 'martyred' in 2008.

As I've posted several times in past years on DU, I believe it's highly likely that the Reich-Wing will 'martyr' Junior some time in early to mid 2008. Their 'perfect' scenario would first include replacement of Cheney (for health reasons) with some intended successor to the role of Puppet-in-Chief ... say, perhaps, George Allen or Bill Frist. Then, that person would become a candidate in 2008.

Junior is a foreseeable liability. Without the hordes of sycophants and courtiers and enablers (all on the taxpayers' dimes) and the resources of the Presidency (AF-1, Marine-1, Offal Orifice, Camp David, etc.) there's no way he wouldn't become a loose cannon - a pathological Narcissist deprived of a narcissistic supply-on-steroids.

But ... as a 'martyr' he'd become the GOP's JFK ... and they'd salivate to have such a 'false god' to wave in front of the spittle-bedecked, drooling, knuckle-dragging morans who are addicted to such pseudo-patriotic Viagra.

I doubt that they can resist the temptation. Nothing is beneath them.

Dear Agent Mike: In no way, shape, or form do I wish or propose any threat to the health and well-beeing of the President. Indeed, I advocate his incarceration for 20-years-to-life in a padded cell after impeachment, indictment, conviction and imprisonment for war crimes. Due process. It's the "American Way."

6. I suspect that, too, but I think he'll be martyred like Ken Lay

had a heart attack and died. Just for show only.

These are the same people who wanted the maker of the film that "caused" Bebghazi to be jailed.
These are also the same people who ostensibly oppose censorship.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Would you watch "Death of a President"?

Its the new documentary style film someone in the UK made. Bush gets asassinated, and they show the aftermath of that. Saw it on CNN, just seeing what you guys thought about this.

18. Nevernose, you have a good point. However, if there is a press

screening, I would attend it.

That would mean that a major film distributor would have to back it.

9. Why not? It's just a movie for christ's sake...

Besides, I've sat through far more disturbing films than "death of a president" could ever be. :-)

It's examining the aftermath (America's reaction;with it's "post 911" mentality) - the assassination is just the vehicle to get us there. It could have just as easily of been another WTC kind of thing - but the world already knows how America reacts to things like that.(Badly. Criminally. Stupidly. Fearfully)

If America isn't strong enough to stand up to the scrutiny, Americans might want to ask themselves why.

and twenty or so of his Junta got blown out of the sky. It's a movie, hello.

this movie. I have no desire one way or the other to watch, it does seem a tad unseemly.

But isn't the hypocrisy of the repugs just priceless? Coultergeist (and others) have advocated killing Bill Clinton for years, accused him and Hillary of a whole laundry list of crimes, made jokes about it, etc. etc. etc. But let someone do a fictional movie about Chucklenuts and they scream foul? Sorry folks, you guys are the ones who introduced the genre of killing a president to the world so suck it up and buy some popcorn, this is right down your bloodthirsty little alleys.

They can dish it out but can't take it.

40. Bush couldn't walk across the White House lawn wtihout a

security detail. Clinton could have walked all over Washington with no security and 100 dollar bills hanging out of his pockets.

Maybe they're art imitating life.

I have a secret wish every day for a neon headline flashing across my computer screen.

And the winner is...
