Damn.

It's pretty pathetic when, if one's seeking discussions of substance on Skins's island, one's compelled to go to the cooking and baking forum, because there sure ain't none of that--discussions of substance--anywhere else over there.

1. I'm having bacon and eggs with buttermilk pancakes. Rainy day meal...

And simmering left over chicken for soup stock.

2. Dunno yet, but this morning for breakfast

I tried some of the black raspberry jelly we just started making this year, and it was just about perfect. I think the cloves were a little too strong, and I'm guessing that's because we used the same amount we use in the jams, and the ratio of ingredients shifts a bit. It was still really good, though, and the consistency was spot on.

I'm also thinking I might start planting some crocus sativus, the saffron crocus, and try harvesting my own saffron in the coming year.

3. I get a couple of jars of plum jam every year from a friend.

She makes up a bunch when the plum glut comes in. Really nice, not too sweet, a little chunky with some savory taste in it all. I should ask her what that is. I'm guessing nutmeg, but who knows? I've no clue about jam or jelly making.

4. It's pretty simple, actually.

The hardest part as far as I'm concerned is simply making sure you keep things sterile. I know there are things that you have to pressure can to kill off bacteria, but I just do things with some acidity on their own, so we just boil things up, then put melted wax in as a plug even inside the jars before we seal them. As long as we eat them within a year, maybe a year and a half, they seem fine. I've never had one go bad, but then they never last longer than that in our household. The rest of it is just following the recipes. (Oh, and adding a small bit of butter or margarine when boiling the mix to lower bubble surface tension, to avoid getting a mass of bubbles overflowing the pot.)

5. Ribs, baby

Or make that meaty baby back ribs. With Trader Joe's KC BBQ sauce mixed with Huy Fong chili-garlic sauce.

I just made the mac salad (chopped onion, celery, tomato w/ mayo). Baked beans as another side. (Sadly, not B&M baked beans, these darned SoCal heathens just won't stock it in the grocery stores! Don't they know??)

6. Another pork chop.

I have half of the acorn squash from last night left over, but it has absolutely no flavor. I think it must be old. So I'm going to have a baked potato and a salad tonight.

For dessert, TJ 72% cacao bar. I've been making tulle tutus with Christmas ribbons and bells for the girlies in the family today. The big tabby cat keeps interfering.

There are two 6 figure posters in that thread I have just seen for the first time.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Judy ruined her Trader Joe's pizza by including kale.

She's just showing off because there's a "TJ" in her hood.  You bastards can't afford tulle tutus, so **** y'all.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but one of them, the great aunts of triplets primitive, used to pal around with one of the most annoying primitives on the island, the magistrate primitive.

The pinto primitive's been around for a long time, usually in the cooking and baking forum.  The pinto primitive shouldn't be confused with the pintobean primitive, however; the latter's a primitive light in the loafers.

The great-aunt's a glum morose drab primitive--probably because her dentures don't fit in her mouth properly--who's also been around a long time, again usually in the cooking and baking forum.  She was one of the peripheral cheerleaders for the late red round one during poor stupid Beth's scam ten years ago, and Fat Che, who's since been foreclosed and kicked out, was once a neighbor of hers.

The great-aunt's currently a pal with Big Mo and Skippy (who lives in California, but he's gone to Chicago plenty of times, usually to adoringly sit at the feet of his idol Wlliam "25 Million Dead" Ayres).

That's news to me, but you might be right.

Because of the sleazy sordid nature of the character of the magisterial one, I've tended to avoid reading the ancient degenerate, and so obviously have missed other primitives back-and-forthing with him.

And the great aunt does seem to have a warm spot in her heart for especially depraved and disgusting primitives.

That often gets glossed over by the lib media. But it is a very telling part of the character of Ayres and the radical left.

They met up at a Chicago event once, possibly more, and I also remember her (if she is the primitive I'm thinking of) conversing with other primitives about the magistrate primitive.

I can hardly stand to read his pompous bullshit.  That, and he really needs to see a specialist about his fingernails.  They are the nasty.

"Tulle Tutu" sounds like a character on the old Benny Hill Show.

I don't care about it enough to look up the meaning of "tulle tutu". I'm going to assume it is an article of clothing Pie Shop Judy would use to cover her "girlies", which strikes me as a terribly juvenile thing for a woman to call her breasts.

Tutus are ballerina skirts.  Tulle is the type of fabric.  Popular with little girls.

Sounds like poor addled DUmmy grasswipe Judy Smith found a bonanza of spoiled produce and overage packaged food in the Trader Joe's dumpster.

Judy grasswipe is the last person one should allow to prepare food.
