It's voluntary right now, but just wait.  Obama and the left are inciting racial enmity across the country. When it comes time, Obama will declare martial law and order all guns confiscated just like they did in New Orleans after Katrina.

Now that there sound very dangerous to me. Lets say a police department has several guns involved with unsolved murders. Now lets say one of those guns finds it's way under a cop's overcoat. That same gun can amazingly be found in your home--you just didn't know it was there.

Pardon me if I am not as trusting in Obama's America.
