Hillary's speaking fees have always been astronomical (pretty much on par with the Clenis, although the Clenis bagged a high of $450K in a gig he spoke at in London in 2006). GWB asks between $100K-$150K, which is about what Colin Powell gets.

Some of this crap is actually funny, but when you're trying to sell yourself as being "one of the little people", somehow that just doesn't ring true when you're making this kind of money for running your yap.

Yeah, I know, if you're such a celebrity that people are willing to pay you that kind of money, more power to you. But we're talking Hillary here. Stinky, distasteful, slimy, shitty Hillary.

I don't know where they get the speaker fees to pay these speakers. It's not like they're going to make a CD of it that they will sell to recoup the speaker fees.

Most major universities have an organization that arranges for these speakers, and they roll the cost of running it into the tuition, along with whatever funding they get from the state (if it's a public university)

It's worse than that. They don't bother telling the students that's partly what their tuition money is going for. Kid thinks it's going to pay for his lib professor, who gets his grad assistants to teach the class anyway (especially at the undergrad levels).
