Waiting for snow
« on: November 15, 2014, 01:34:23 PM »
Saturday the 15th. waiting for snow. its supposed to drop 1-3 inches.
Nothing really bad. no ice or nothing. North of Des Moines its going to be worse.
I have everything I need. comfort food, meat to cook, I'm stocked up.
No chores to do. My house is clean top to bottom.
~~ All I need to do is relax.

When I came home last night, the wife had dinner and a massage ready. She even bought new slippers for me. Right now, she's puttering about the kitchen making pumpkin pie.

Yep life is good. Except for the snow...life is good.

This snow will amount to nothing but a minor nuisance.  Just wish it would warm up a little bit, averaging 20-25 degrees below normal since last Monday.

3:35 PM. less than an half an inch has fallen.  I can still see grass and leaves. There are white patches on the road. Almost no traffic all day.

Snow storms have a quiet hush to them, like they mute all other sounds.

It looks like the sleet/snow storm forecast for this area will pass us by.  We'll get the usual rain and drizzle and not much else.

We got four to eight inches of snow.  A few days ago.  Rained first.  Made the drive to work unusually exciting.  Really pretty, though.  Been below zero way more than I like.  There is a silly picture floating around FB that says "The air hurts my face.  Why do I live where the air hurts my face?"  That keeps playing over and over in my head.

Preg tested cattle yesterday.  First time that I can recall people fighting to be the one wearing the long glove.  At least one hand would occasionally be warm.
