GOP officially puts McConnell in charge of the Senate
« on: November 13, 2014, 12:05:03 PM »
WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans unanimously elected Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky to serve as majority leader when the new Congress convenes in January. Senators held leadership elections Thursday morning.

McConnell's elevation was not in doubt after Republicans picked up at least eight seats in the midterm elections. A Louisiana Senate race heads to a Dec. 6 runoff where GOP Rep. Bill Cassidy is favored over Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu. If he wins, McConnell will have a 54-seat majority next year.

McConnell, first elected to the Senate in 1984, has served as minority leader since 2007. The GOP takeover delivered him a personal career goal to serve as majority leader. He is the second Kentucky senator elected to the post. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2014/11/13/mcconnell-senate-leadership-elections/18942053/?utm_source=feedblitz&utm_medium=FeedBlitzRss&utm_campaign=usatoday-newstopstories

WTF?  How can they even have a vote when the newly elected members aren't even seated? Are they worried that McConnell would get elected if they waited. Is this normal?

Not quite. Herpes doesn't go away. Dingy Harry did (or will in the new Congress), at least as Majority Leader.

*sigh* I'm disgusted with all of these ****ers. Doesn't matter to me what party they belong to -- if they're a professional politician, they automatically stink of shit.

Don't **** it up, Mitch, we will be watching...
"We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst. We castrate and then bid the geldings to be fruitful."

C.S. Lewis

A community may possess all the necessary moral qualifications, in so high a degree, as to be capable of self-government under the most adverse circumstances; while, on the other hand, another may be so sunk in ignorance and vice, as to be incapable of forming a conception of liberty, or of living, even when most favored by circumstances, under any other than an absolute and despotic government.

Harry Reid hasn't gone away, he's just gone into remission until the next flare up, kinda like herpes.

I'm betting the asswipe retires after this current term. He can't stand the world not revolving around him. Furthermore, he can't stand not sitting on legislation.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Remember that?  McConnell took the Majority Leader position from Reid.  Many of us conservatives knew what was coming, but did ya'll think it would be this bad?  Gleefully fitting right in with the chosen one's liberalism. Reminiscent of Boehner taking Pelosi's hammer.  What difference did any of this make?  Nothing.

So today, McConnell, as expected, went one step further to elevate Obama's powers, along with a whole bunch of rinos. Yep, 48 rinos & 14 Dems.   On a silver platter Obama was handed approval of fast-track legislation "that could make it easier for him to complete a wide-ranging trade deal that would include 11 Pacific Rim nations."   McConnell's spin doctor, Orrin Hatch: "This is an important bill, likely the most important bill we will pass this year.  It's important to President Obama."  Ya think?  Is it his birthday or something, why not tie his extra powers with a bow?

So yesterday, the Senate voted to stop debate on the trade bill, & today its fast-track.  My, my, they do fast work when it suits.  Don't forget, we can't know what's in it until its passed.

Hey, Mitch, you were elected to stop Obama's agenda, not enhance it.  Oh, you're not hearing any of this & I'm talking to myself.
