Shower or Hot Bath?

Myself I like a shower, but when cold weathers arrives I love soaking in a hot bath.

Neither 2 (6%)

This isn't a good poll.  Where is the option for "none"?

1. But I love both!

I mean, I just go for hot showers more often than not, and it is quicker...

Baths are pretty amazing though.

2. When I (rarely) try a bath,

envisioning a nice, hot, relaxing soak, I swear "never again." Either my knees are out of the water and cold, or my shoulders and upper chest are. In addition, I'm getting too old and brittle to safely navigate the climbing in and out part. Give me an (almost) scalding shower any day.

3. Who has time.

.... .for a bath?

Seriously, I haven't taken one in probably decades. Just too much work, time and water and gas/electricity.

4. I'm a small woman (5'2) and I can't get my entire body submerged in a bath

Knees out or too much of my upper body is out of the water and cold.

Shower for me always.

6. shower if i'm washing myself

bubble bath if i'm relaxing. yes, it's cramped and i'm not fully submerged, but i love it. i put the laptop on the toilet, turn on netflix and just soak.

8. If I had a choice...

... I'd live out on the desert where water is only used for cooking and drinking, or on a tropical seashore where I'd be in the ocean every day.

Otherwise I don't like soaking, but showering isn't intolerable.

I do worry about ending up like my insane grandma. Her refusing to bathe is just one of the reasons they'd kick her out of nursing homes.

13. not cold

You folks saying the exposed body parts in a bath are cold, don't you have enough heat in your bathrooms? I have a little portable electric heater I turn on.

In my old house, the tub was fine for a blissful soak. The new place has a slightly too short tub with an odd inner shape, drat.

14. I like it cold, when I take a bath

I keep the water barely tolerable and the window open. Then again, I usually only take a bath after a very long grueling run, so I'm soaking my legs in screaming hot water while my upper body is absolutely drenched in sweat...it's glorious. I've been known to spend an hour or more at it after a marathon, constantly refilling the tub with a bottle of icy Graves at the side.

I don't think that DUmmie has ever been in the ocean.  I always itched after swimming in the ocean. You have to get the salt off.

I've never itched, but I've always been sticky as hell after climbing out.  I can live with it if I know I'm going to go back in the water in a little bit, but not for long periods of time.

That's my point a shower or bath is needed once you're away from the beach.

Same here.  Your skin is sticky and then the sand sticks to that....and usually in the most uncomfortable places.

Typical of the primitives to discuss some thing they know nothing about.
Kind of like economics or the Constitution.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

But, as DUmmies have always acted as if sand was perpetually in those regions, I don't know as how anybody could tell the difference. :fuelfire:

I think the shower is the greatest invention since indoor plumbing.

Unlike DUmmies, I take showers because I don't want to wash my face in the same water I've been sitting in.   :lmao:

There are days when I have to take a hot bath to ease the soreness in my arms and legs, usually followed by a quick rinse under the shower.

I would think the primitives would want to restrict themselves to shower only.

Can you imagine the dirt slag that would form on top of the water during a primitive bath?

I think there are laws on the books against them draining that tub without filing an environmental impact statttement (long form).

Yeah--they don't want the hassle, so they just don't take showers.  Problem (for them) solved.

I took mostly baths until middle school, when we moved to a house without a tub. Since then I shower every day. But if you don't take either, then stay away.
