If gas prices had been reduced to an average of $2.95 while a ReTHUG was President

that would be all M$Greedia would be talking about. The silence re gas prices in this election is ****ing deafening.

GOTV!!!

You have got to be kidding me, right ?  - here is a reminder for you..

Notice where average gas prices were at the end of the Bush presidency...

About those low gas prices when Obama took office

I will repeat what I put in my journal a few months ago, hopefully to a wider audience. This seems to be a common RNC meme about how cheap gas was when Obama took office.

from here http://205.254.135.24/petroleum/gasdiesel/

On Aug 18, 2008 it was $3.71 and Sep. 29, 2008 it was $3.64 then it started falling as the economy crashed. 3.11 by Oct 13, 2.34 by Nov. 3, and 1.79 by December 1, 2008. Bottomed out at 1.59 on December 29. 2008. By Feb. 2, it was $1.87 and by March 30, $2.03.

That's kind of an outlier though, because from Dec. 31, 2007 to Oct. 13, 2008 gas was over $2.95, peaking at a price of $4.05 on July 14, 2008.

The price of gas was low when Obama took office because Bush had wrecked the economy. Actually the depressed world economy simply wasn't using as much petroleum then.

I guess if we elect Romney, Gingrich or Santorum, they will wreck the economy again and we can have lower gas prices.

That seems like a fair trade, no?

Still $2.53/9 here this morning.

On an off topic side note. My very black republican male U.S. senator is up +24.5 in polls against a 3/4 white/black oriental female democrat. I guess foodstamps and Obamaphones work better at buying votes than does cheap gas.

If gas prices were really something to cheer about & rally around, would one of or all the Dems be campaigning on it?  Same with the unemployment rate.

No, that is not why gas prices were so low back in 2008. When Bush lifted the offshore drilling moratorium, the price of oil dropped like a rock. It was below $2 when Obama was inaugurated. One of the first things he did was reinstate the ban. Guess what happened next...

The reason why prices are coming down this time is because of shale oil and fracking, which is increasing the oil supply despite Obama's shenanigans.

The DUmmie ignores the fact that the economy only took a turn for the worse when Pelosi and Reid took control of Congress.  Most of the economic upturn under Obama has happened since the GOP took the house and Pelosi was sent packing from the leadership.
