Sun Nov 2, 2014, 12:41 PMCK_John (6,986 posts) NY 21st congressional district getting ready to send a Backmann replacementto Congress. This district is the about the size of Vermont & NH combined and borders Vermont. She will be one of the youngest and richest in Congress, the beat goes on.

I had no idea - I used to be part of this district until the last reapportionmentwhen the populous southern part of Oswego County was cut off and attached to Syracuse. I think that makes sense - we're in the same television broadcast area and the big paper here is the Syracuse Post Standard. It also makes for a district that could go either way at election time depending on the candidate. But the new 21st! Most of it covers the Adirondack Park, which is very sparsely populated. We're talking about an area which considers the tea Party to be a leftist organization. Republican Elise Stefanik is running as a small businesswoman, which means she has a "job" at her family's plywood plant in between working for national Republcans like George Bush and Paul Ryan. I don't see her as another Michelle Bachmann, more a generic Republican who looks good but is an empty suit.

Why do they hate women?
They hate Stefanik because she's a typical conservative woman--hot! (Plus her refusal to 'vote with her uterus" as Mark Udall is doing in Colorado.)
Teh butthurt is getting strong on the island.Tomorrow, I plan on a substantial in Boudreaux's Butt Paste. I'll make a killin'.
I so hope that Joni Ernst wins the U.S. Senate seat to replace Tom Harkin. She would also be the first woman EVER elected in Iowa to Congress. DUmmy heads will be exploding, but more importantly, most of her policy stances are solidly conservative.
Retiring Democratic Sen. Tom Harkin is in hot water tonight for some remarks he made on Republican candidate for Senate Joni Ernst’s looks while campaigning for Bruce Braley in Iowa. Andrew Kaczynski of BuzzFeed tweets:
