Hmmmm.

One wonders what nadin's going to say about this.

Remember, her deal is "guilty until proven innocent," at least as far as the Mexican judicial system is concerned.

About damn time. Obama to take credit in 3-2-1...

Or he will totally ignore.  Yeah, I think he'll ignore it because to acknowledge it means he failed to get him released sooner.

I wonder if Valerie Jarrett suggested keeping Tahmooresi on the "back burner" until they could use him as an October surprise.  Not a peep for weeks and months, and the weekend before Election Day?

I wouldn't expect anything less of her or her boss.

I'm happy for him and his family, but I don't believe it for a ****ing second.  The weekend before election day from an administration that doesn't care one shit about our military or this country's citizens.  This has Valerie Jarrett written all over it.

Good news for him and his family  :yahoo:  But already this morning reports are saying "due to strong diplomatic pressure."

If it was "strong diplomatic pressure", wouldn't the release have come via a pardon by the Mexican gov't? Or does our State Dept routinely pressure members of foreign judiciaries? To me, this looks more like this judge found that there was no ill intent and/or he was bribed.

My first thought....right in time for Election Day.

As pleased I am, why now I wonder. I do not think last minute will have much impact.

Too late, really...it's like their Friday afternoon data dumps of bad news, news listenership drops off to nothing from Friday noon 'til Monday morning.  It's as big a bucket of ice water for good news as it is for bad, and with early voting in so many jurisdictions, it's a day late and dollar short for a big chunk of the electorate at this point.  If they were actually trying to use it as an October surprise, I think it's a fail.

It's a fail for a couple reasons. Anyone who knows who this guy is was going to vote Republican anyway, they aren't going to be impressed with his "foreign policy win". Anyone who might not have known who he was probably doesn't care that he was in prison.
