Jim always liked to tell the story of his giant penis costume, and the short story he had written related to it that was published in his college's arts magazine. of course in his life wanderings he had lost any copies of it he may have had. after he died, an old friend of his got in contact with me and sent some copies of some of his stories and poems.

For about 10 years, my Halloween costume was a 7-foot penis made of chicken wire....
... and papier mache -- with with some pretty impressive, um... special effects.
I won every bar contest I ever entered... until I got here to Tucson, where I
didn't even place. I stopped making them.
BUT... it had inspired the first short story I ever got published. I got stoned in
a bar's parking lot, went inside, sat down at the bar and got a drink... and
turned to see that I was sitting next to a 7-foot penis. .
We had a great conversation about my sex life (it was simply a metaphor for
my sex life at the time -- fairly hedonistic and fun). At the end of our talk,
I got distracted by something and when I looked back, it had turned into a
beautiful woman who introduced herself -- "My name is Elizabeth Doe... Libby
to my friends". (Libby Doe) .
 
I was so proud that I had gotten published that I showed it to MiddleFingerMomMom.
.
She read about a page of it, set it down on the arm of her chair and said, "I'll
read this later, dear."
5-to-1 she never did.

I don't know if anybody will be able to read these but here are images of the file I have.
