Councilman-elect Scott Peotter wants to get rid of the concrete bunnies in the Newport Beach Civic Center park. He says he hasn't met anyone who likes the installation.

While I can understand his frustration with the total cost of the civic center, I wonder how many of his youngest constituents he has polled.

As a 65-year-old recent retiree and a 35-year resident, I find that the bunnies are my favorite part of the new civic center and park. When I first saw them, they brought to mind the childhood song "Teddy Bears Picnic," an anthropomorphic fantasy that's magic to a child's imagination.

The circle of bunnies is also a fanciful reflection of the deliberations in the nearby council chambers.

My 2-cents worth: Keep the bunnies.

Ptarmy knows I'm on the Bunny side of the conflict. and here is why.

Ptarmigans also have the decency to keep their diseases to themselves.  Search "Rabbit diseases in humans".  It's ridiculous!!

In the olden days many a rabbit gave their life to see if a human was pregnant.

Unfortunately for Ptarmigan, it doesn't look like the test killed the rabbit, though:

Well, I've never seen a ptarmigan in person, but I did almost die from rabbit fever when I was little, so I still hate the varmints (albeit without the fervor our Ptarmigan).

But at the last minute, the hare chooses not to. They are both photographed and hare cannot be caught killing ptarmigan. It exposes bunnies as evil terrorists.

Rabbits have killed chickens and even cats. They fight each other a lot. That means rabbits fight ptarmigans as they doom humanity.
