Republican Rauner orders a hot dog with ketchup

In a race as tight as the campaign for Illinois governor, all it takes is one mistake to turn the election.

Bruce Rauner made it on Tuesday.

The GOP candidate placed a hot dog order at Portillos–one of them was with ketchup and mustard.

As legend goes, NOBODY puts ketchup on a hot dog in Chicago.

Rauner’s campaign, quickly realizing the enormity of the gaffe, quickly went into damage control.

One top aide was willing to throw herself on the political grenade.

The rumor is, at least the one I'm starting, is that Gov. Pat Quinn prefers New York Style Pizza to Chicago Style Pizza.

:ohnoes:

I bet the Quinn camp would respond that Rauner secretly likes Imo's St. Louis-style thin crust.  :-)

There are a lot of votes to be had in E. St. Louis. Bit Quinn would lose in Chicago.
