HOLY-MOLY !.....wood cook stoves are expensive.
« on: October 16, 2014, 01:42:42 PM »
So I was remembering my long departed grandmother and the good food that I had enjoyed from her old wood cook stove.....and out of curiosity looked up the price of a new one like the one she had.....WOW!....around $7,000.

Blooming things range from 5 to 9 thousand dollars.....I guess I'll stick with a modern range....which was my plan all along. :-)

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

A gift from Obama's EPA.

"Under my plan, the cost of wood stoves would necessarily skyrocket."

The best thing to do would be to look for a used one.  I'm waiting for them to target charcoal and propane grills at the federal level.

I don't even know if you're allowed to sell used ones.

Another stupid, useless regulation.

Todays stoves are pretty expensive too.  Be sure to get one that can be repaired easily.  This one I have, one of the burners isn't working right, and it's too expensive to get it fixed. They would almost have to replace the whole top and installing a new one on site is almost impossible. The thing isn't that old either.

I would rather have the old one like my grandmother had.  (was not a wood stove).  At least you could take the burners apart on hers.  Even my moms old drop in stove top was easy to disassemble and put back together.
