Sammy's birthday bash...Cabo moves to Vegas.
« on: October 13, 2014, 06:40:19 PM »

Quote
Sammy Hagar’s Belated Birthday Bash will feature Sammy Hagar & The Circle featuring Michael Anthony, Jason Bonham and Vic Johnson rocking a setlist spanning four decades – including hits from Montrose, Hagar’s solo career, Van Halen and beyond – Distraught but undeterred by the hurricane, Hagar took to social media to explore alternative locations with his and with Bonham on board, they can also expect a few Led Zeppelin classics.  In addition, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith will join Hagar and Anthony for a special CHICKENFOOT encore.

Redhead fans and Vegas became an early frontrunner. With a rum bash at DLV already in the works, Hagar’s choice was made easier and he quickly locked in the earliest date possible at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.

DLV will bring the Cabo lifestyle to the desert with exotic cocktails, street food, sand volleyball, and of course, rock & roll. General admission tickets are $65. “Red Zone” tickets, offering exclusive access to the Party Pit and prime views of the stage, are $85.  A very limited amount of VIP Seats are available for $150.

Both of my female friends have to work at a local concert in my town for a former CMA artist of the year....(yes I said both) and I have plenty of room if anyone wants to jump on a plane and tear up Vegas.... I can still buy another ticket(s)

I have VIP access. It will be fun...

It was a tough decision....old washed up country music concert for ten bucks or spending $500 on a room for a couple days and VIP tickets....Sammy won.

I just found out friends from IL were coming to town a few days ago, and I was able to throw this together pretty quick...being semi retired has it's benefits. Walking distance from the concert and I plan on not being able to walk.  :cheersmate:

Karl Welzein approves.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

October fest is downtown during the same time so there will be some good German eats and near the strip they are having a foodie fest, that includes White Castle. Vegas will soon have a White Castle this winter.

I will be staying there for three days to spend some time with my friends that I have known a long time.

Sammy put out a video on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=555695907800222&permPage=1

Sammy's preview of the event:

A song from the event:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJIhJMgQPMk&

At 67 years of age...he has still got it.

Ear piercing guitar and vocals and they nailed several Led Zeppelin songs. Joe Satriani came out wearing all red, including a red wig...and was shredding his bright red guitar in celebration of the Red Rocker's birthday!

There was an opening band and Sammy played three sets with different musicians. It was epic.

I was hanging out with Horny Mike from Count's Kustoms (from the History Channel) and yes there are pictures. Him and I had a pretty good time together. Nice guy. When out of town friends visit I am always showing them things and places that they did not know existed. One was the new downtown Container Park...there is simply so much to do and see. There were also amazed that despite a huge line of people, how quickly I was able to get waited on before everyone else...for some reason, people like me, for instance the owner of the Hotel & Casino that put on the event.

Some have seen the craziness on my Facebook wall...I might have time to post some pictures in the next day or two.

The neon city scores again.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Yes that is Joe Satriani on guitar during the video...footage of the birthday cake and epic Zeppelin. A couple NSFW words. Sammy was getting ****ed up!

I have a picture with Derek the guy in the red jacket on stage with Sammy someplace, he is a friend of mine and a casino owner in Vegas.
