Atman (27,975 posts) Tue Sep 30, 2014, 10:33 AMDo you understand how important this is???That is the headline on the latest of the dozens of e-mails I get per day from DCCC, CTDEMS, DGA, and the dubious OBAMABIDEN.COM, which is still sending me requests for money, with links to the 2012 web site, among others Hmmm...what's up with that? Anyway, I feel like every time I open my e-mail box I'm being grabbed by the lapels and slapped around. Doom! Gloom! Failure! Disaster! And the wonderfully condescending douche-baggy e-mail I received just ten minutes ago, Do you understand how important this is??? Apparently I'm too stupid to get it, and sending another $5 will help me understand.

global1 (11,844 posts) Tue Sep 30, 2014, 10:50 AM2. I'm Getting A Ton Of E-Mails From All Sorts Of Dems Requesting Money......I already made my contribution and these continue to pour in anyway. All are stressing the importance of this upcoming election. The thing is - I know of the importance of this election. They are in a sense preaching to the choir. They need to get the message of GOTV to those that aren't plugged in to the Nov Congressional election. IMHO they haven't been doing that. I don't see prominent Dems on the cable news shows - nor do I see Dem talking heads - stressing the importance of this upcoming election and saying why it is important. They should all be out very visibly - talking about what could happen if we lose the Senate. Or what could happen if we maintain the Senate and take the House - how important it would be to take back the House. They should be talking about potential replacement of a SCOTUS judge. I don't see this happening and we are probably 35 days out from the election. When are they going to start promoting GOTV? If the past is any indication of the future - it will be after we lose the Senate and lose seats in the House that they will say - see - we needed you to GOTV and you sat this one out - it's your fault. No it isn't our fault - it's their fault for not stressing the importance of Nov and what it means to every American to have Dem control of Congress in order to get the things done that we need to do to get this country back on a reasonable track. We know that people will be shooting themselves in the foot if they let the Repubs take over. It will even be worse than it has been up to now if that happens.
