Interesting. As some of you know, I travel for a living and have probably eaten 18,000 restaurant meals (200 days a year X 15 years X 3 times a week X 2 meals a day) and have not ever had any one of these things happen to me.
Free I must have had all things happen to me and dozens more that I have forgotten about.
Much to learn in unfortunate incidents a form of Kama building as it were. Just roll with the experience and see where it takes you to. Usually a more interesting place then a good meal but boaring and lackluster ambience. These are what build memories and few remember what the food tasted of, just the screwups and the experience of dining under unanticapated curcomstances.
Sooner or later we will get a water glass with a chip in it. A fork or spoon that is questionable, how the staff responds is more interesting then the problem.
Most interesting experience was for me spending $50.00 each for a steak and lobster dish. We got there just at opening time and with all the seating empty placed outside the kitchen and the restroom doors. No problem, this was where the action was. Were I holi poli I would have objected, come to think about it if I had not been drinking Cold Duck ahead of time I may have objected.
As it turned out the evening with a mouse under our table that I fed dinner rolls with butter, our after meal coffee with sour milk,
We knew then that we were in for some fun, we could hear and see the kitchen area, the yelling and cussing and the restrooms backing up into the dining area.
Some things in life are memories precious, those that cause one to laugh out loud and years later over shadow all the dozens of uneventfull dinners we forget.
