I have firm confirmation that Nancy Pelosi is urging the Judiciary committee NOT to go forward with contempt against Rove.

Congressman John Conyers and the Judiciary staff are battling for it but this has become an infight among dems.

Time to burn up the phone lines.

1. OK, why the hell not?
Is it blackmail, the threat of force, or plain old lack of backbone?

You left out a fourth option - common sense.

6. They must have something on her.
 Or her kids.

Somebody must have gotten to her, because she appears to be scared to death of the WH.

Thanks, Tom. You run along and play now. We'll be right over here in the real world if you need us.

151. Far-fetched tin foil theory -- Maybe there is a gambler in her family.
What are the common threads linking sundry weird stories of corruption from Abramoff to Siegleman to McCain being the Republican anointed (a very odd choice in my view) -- the gambling industry. The other thread is oil, of course. But I don't think Pelosi has anything to do with the oil industry. So, tin foil hat in hand, I would guess someone owes a gambling debt or does not want a history of gambling revealed -- or or or.

Please, I'm not totally serious about this theory in that my rational side realizes that it is 98% untrue and worthless, but there is always that other 2%.

But, then again, Pelosi's conduct is so strange and so anti-Democratic and anti-Constitution and irrational that I can only explain it with crazy theories. What is with her? Has she gone mad? Now there is a possible explanation. She has gone crazy from the responsibility and horror of having to deal with Bush. That is 98% believable and 2% unbelievable.

They're not exactly masters of the obvious, are they? Like maybe, "insufficient evidence"?

12. What the **** is WRONG with her??
 That does it.

I'm calling Conyers and asking him to Subponae Pelosi, to find out who got to her.

I'm sure he'll get right on that, dumbass. Why would you want him to look even more ineffectual than he already does? You must really hate Conyers. Besides, he's probably got enough on his mind, what with the antics of his moonbatty wife: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2008/07/05/say-today-what-party-do-conyers-belong

Didn't realize that not filing contempt charges against Rove violated the Constitution.   :whatever:

Perhaps, just perhaps, if they'd elect a better caliber of leader they wouldn't be susceptible to blackmail.

What the hell do the DUchebags think is in the Constitution?
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Since President Bush is the most dispicable, dishonest, crooked man to ever live he must have a lot of real REAL dirty dirt we don't know about.  Why don't they blackmail the President right back?  It seems to be the way to get things done.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

There are three reasons, IMO -

1 ) Nothing will come of it, all it will do is appear to be a revenge tactic. That won't wash with those who think the Dems are all rainbows and light.

2 ) Once nothing comes of it, The President and his folks will declare they aren't guilty of the things the liberals painted them as, and all that will do is strengthen Republican numbers.

3 ) The President and the GOP do not operate in a vacuum. If this becomes a big issue, lots of things about Democrats are going to come out as well - things that the Rainbows and Light gang aren't going to want to hear in an election season.

In other words, Its in the Democrats best interest to not pursue this line, and instead let the imaginary 'truth' that is out on the internet about The President, Cheney, Rove, etc. continue to shape public opinion against Republicans. Just like NCLB -- If it was a smashing success, you damned well better believe it would be Ted Kennedy's brainchild. But since the Teachers Unions hate it -- guess who's fault it is ?

Consider that stolen, with little or no, attribution. LOL!!
