And people wonder why I quiz my kid's teachers on their political views.
She reminds me of my old math teacher who had to become a gym teacher because she was so stupid she couldn't pass the basic math tests for the state.
You're braver than I am. I just couldn't send my sons to public school, especially middle school, the non-deodorized, hippie armpit of public education. At least I know if my sons have an opinion that differs from mine they came by it honestly rather than have it shoved down their throats. Public school teachers are like politicians...they'll tell you exactly what you want to hear to your face and then turn around and do something different in the classroom. Can't even count on textbooks anymore to give an unbiased opinion, just read any average jr. high or high school history in any average classroom today (even in Kansas).
I'm still trying to figure out whether all these idiots lie because they actually believe it or they (desperately) want their lies to be true and hope by repeating them they'll become true. Sadly, what they end up with isn't the truth but an entire generation that believes the lie. Thank God there are parents out there balancing what their children hear in school with the truth. I admire those of you that can because I couldn't do it and someone's got to since, for better or worse it's the system we're going to have for generations.
One of my favorite quotes from the DUmmies, because it condenses their entire philosophy in a nutshell is from one of PJ's excellent DUFU's way back in January 2006,
http://dummiefunnies.blogspot.com/2006/01/dummie-funnies-01-30-06-ive-got-it.html. Anyway, the mental tampons at DU had come up with yet ANOTHER way to destroy the Republicans (cue Acme Company and find that damn coyote)...expose their lies! Simply state everything they say is a lie, lather rinse, repeat. Then, from the OP (up2Late), the one with the brilliant plan came this gem, "It will work be cause they ARE liars, and would have to prove they...are NOT. All Politicians lie in one way or another, the difference is, Democrats do it (or should) for the greater good, Republicans lie for the select few."

The thing they never get around to explaining, though, is WHO decides what the greater good is. Or even WHAT is the greater good. Because it's evidently not a crime to lie if you're doing it for the "right" reasons...it's actually even a good thing...those uber-moral dem politicians lie for the "greater good". For the sake of argument let's say their favorite..."Bush lied us into war" (I'm sure history texts are being written about that right now) is true. Why couldn't that be one of those "greater good" lies? Perhaps ALL people being free is for tthe greater good...at least as far as Bush is concerned...best for humanity. Maybe this isn't a "crime" but one of those noble things make the whole planet better.
