top DUmmies of 2014

Since we're down to only a mere 80 shopping days until nominations for the top DUmmies of 2014 begin about suppertime Thanksgiving Eve, it's perhaps time to get members into the holiday spirit.

There will be only one change in the awards this year; Top DUmmies 20-11 will be listed, but there'll be no award.  Only Top DUmmies 10-01 will be so honored.

Voting will be carried out the same as last year; by secret ballot only, although members will be free to "campaign" for the favorites, and reveal how they voted, in both the "nominations" thread and the "voting" thread, if they so wish.  But their votes must be cast by secret ballot, to be counted.

Voters will be asked to vote for ten, and to "weigh" their top five choices, as last year, and their second five votes will merely be counted equally, however Mr. Wiggum wishes to count them.  But members are encouraged to vote for a full contingent of ten, not any lesser number.

The special awards will be the same as last year:
-the William Rivers Pitt award, for the most memorable primitive 2001-2014
-the Steven Dawes award, for the primitive who made the biggest fool of himself in 2014
-the Nadin Abbott award, for the primitive who thought the most highly of himself in 2014
-the group award, for the most distinctive group (formal or informal) in 2014
-the CCA, which is franksolich's own personal choice, for which no votes will be taken

-the Robyn McGrath award is now re-baptized the Bartholomew Scott award, for the primitive who proved the most laughably paranoid primitive of 2014.

Nominations will be accepted about suppertime Thanksgiving Eve, November 26, until about suppertime Saturday December 6.

Votes will be accepted from about suppertime Sunday December 7 (one has to assemble the ballot after all, making the one-day gap here) until about suppertime Wednesday December 17.

The giving of the awards will begin one week later, about suppertime Christmas Eve (one has to count the votes and write the awards after all, making the one-week gap here) and continue until about suppertime New Year's Eve, in ascending order.

DOTY is a magical season,full of surprises and twists and turns as the DUmbasses maneuver for attention.
In years past we have had Tangerine pay her respects as I suspect she knew soon she would be entering eternities fate.
The Las Vegas leviathan campaigned with a you tube video.
I could be wrong but long forgotten Allentown Jakeoff also may have appeared during a campaign.


This year pickings are slim as the rotting smelling Klams have so poisoned the well and the clawing masses of outrage of the moment,spit flying,garment rending nobodies have really made the DUmp a boring place of late.

Perhaps yet,from the scum covered,boiling sea of filth and excrement that surrounds the island a couple of voices will rise from the fetid stench and make a late run to glory.

Ahhh... the magical and mystical DOTY Awards Season will soon be upon us all, here at CC. Soon the rooms will be filled with the screeching of horrified primitives, the kitchen aromiated with the fragrance of singed hair. Children, literally, jibber-jabbering about how unfair it all is, whether they win a award or are completely ignored by the good and decent people. And the floors resounding with the pitter-patter of dainty primitive feet as they trudge around the dinner table, bleating like sheep: "O baaa maah, O-baaa--aaaa-maaaah!", with an occasional "Hill- laarr-ree" blared in from the KKKlam-Puma contingment

At least, maybe, this year the nattering nabob from SDCA can be pushed back into the realm of Nos 15 through 20, where her fat butt belongs. Write a column about that, butt-munch.

So, we went to In n Out. We like their burgers and fries, and one of the few places that will serve it without bread (allergy from hell). But here is one more to like them for. The minimum wage is $9.50 Currently they will start workers at $11.00. I know, I am dreaming to hope they could do it for a higher wage, and in time they will, but the fact that they are paying their employees better means that there is less of a chance I, and you, and the rest, will have to subsidy them.

She's now claiming to be allergic to hamburger buns???

Evidently claims to be allergic to wheat or wheat gluten. Gluten-Free is the current food fad. There are  people who are allergic/sensitive to wheat gluten, so it's not entirely bogus (like an older fad I could cite, but won't so as to avoid a food fight, pun intended). What she referred to is what In N Out calls "Protein Style", in which the burger and accompanying goodies are wrapped in the lettuce. It also avoids 100-150 calories worth of carbs (another current food-fad-bogeyman, that is not without basis in reality).

I take it that either she hasn't noticed the Scripture references on In N Out's wrappers and drink cups or she isn't bigoted against Christians the way many Libs & Progs are.

I won't speak to wages at M or BK, as I can't remember when I last ate at one of either chain's local stores (not this year; not in years for BK).

KFC starts first-job-ever entry-level people at minimum wage, but gives raises fairly quickly to those who earn it. My son was made an assistant manager at a KFC after working there for a year (or less). Being punctual, neat, diligent, and willing to learn can go a long way fast at the entry level!

In N Out (and Chick Fil A, probably) pays a higher-than-minimum-wage to attract the kind of workers they want: In N Out is very selective; In N Out workers work hard (their "slow" times are slightly less busy than M's busy times!) and are very service- and customer-oriented (the same is true of CFA workers, BTW).
