I am not a law enforcement officer, but I group around them and my dad was a law enforcement officer who was a field training officer as well as being in charge of the range, range requirements, and any training that came along.  I may have had access to materials that the public doesn't normally see in that regard.

In instances where an officer (or civilian actually) is firing under duress (as defined emotionally, not necessarily physically) it is extremely common that once one round is fired the gun is fired until empty.  It has also been observed that when in a group if one officer fires, it is likely that the entire group will shoot until the gun is empty.  It is also pretty usual that most of the bullets miss at any range, this is because under stress the first thing you lose is fine motor control.  This probably also accounts for why it is so difficult to stop once the first bullet is shot.

The OK Corral is a good case study.  A massive hail of bullets, very few of which hit anything, and this was skilled law enforcement against skilled outlaw.

Not sure how well I could shoot / aim with a fractured orbital socket. All things considered, the officer did a fine job of putting rounds on target.
Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

One report said that Wilson was almost unconscious at some point during the struggle.

Quote
.....was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department's top brass told FoxNews.com.

Wilson did the job and saved his own life from a deadly threat; and now King Putt's Minister of Injustice and his swarm of ****ing Feebs are trying to crucify the man.

In this case, V, Officer Wilson may have lost the full function of an eye yet put 6 bullets into Brown while Brown was in motion. I can't comment from anything remotely close to experience - I've not fired a handgun in well over 4 decades - but that sounds like good shooting, even at ~10 yards.

4 decades ago, I used to just randomly rapid fire at a target just to see how well I could do. I did pretty good back then.... but then the target hadn't beat the sh*t out of me then backed up to get a running start at doing it again.

I bought the THE JUDGE because my pistol expertise now is more of the spray and pray approach. 5 shots of 3" PDX-1 = 20 large slugs and 80 steel BBs.....bound to at least leave a mark or two.

It's all a matter of your 'fields of fire,' that's all.

Oh now, once I open the backdoor and am firing across the fields, I got a whole range of weapons to choose from.

I wasn't completely clear. I didn't add that if you have too little finger on the trigger when you fire your shot pattern will be in the 9 o'clock position. It happens a lot when in a tense situation too much finger on the trigger puts the pattern in the 3 o'clock position. Assuming he wasn't a left hander...

And I'd add too that given the fact we now know he had the fractured eye socket and (my speculation) a possible concussion from the original confrontation...the fact he hit the target that many times is pretty damn good.
