The rain that rolled through downtown Atlanta on Monday evening did nothing to dampen the spirits of the marchers who gathered at the CNN Center in memory of Missouri teen Michael Brown, who was killed by a police officer.

Even as the first drops fell, the more than 1,000 marchers continued down Marietta Street, some chanting, “No justice, no peace,” while others proclaimed, “I am Mike Brown.”

By the time many of the marchers neared the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, they were in the middle of a full-on deluge, but they continued to march and chant.

Now, a protest in front of CNN.

Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department's top brass told FoxNews.com.

“The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.”

According to the well-placed source, Wilson was coming off another case in the neighborhood on Aug. 9 when he ordered Michael Brown and his friend Dorain Johnson to stop walking in the middle of the road because they were obstructing traffic. However, the confrontation quickly escalated into physical violence, the source said.

The injuries are severe. I do not know how he could fire the gun with this type of injury.

Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket in the fracas, and was left dazed by the initial confrontation, the source said. He is now "traumatized, scared for his life and his family, injured and terrified" that a grand jury, which began hearing evidence on Wednesday, will "make some kind of example out of him," the source said.

I wonder if Darren Wilson was a victim of the "knock out" game.

Credit where credit is due ... even if it's rather minimal. Somehow these protesters managed not to smash windows or loot convenience stores. No agitators or race-baiting thugs in town? Recognized the huge-normous self-inflicted (by folks in MO) black eye their "cause" has received?

I have to admit being somewhat amused that the target of their protest is CNN. Did CNN somehow manage to report truth the protesters didn't want heard?

Media pull out amid new evidence Brown was aggressor

Many news media services already had begun packing tents and television transmission vehicles as word circulated through the Ferguson community of further evidence that the black teen shot and killed by a police officer was the aggressor, resisting arrest after his suspected role in a convenience store robbery.

During daylight hours Wednesday and Thursday, the streets of Ferguson were open to normal traffic and businesses throughout the city were active, with protesters in the streets numbering fewer than 50 at any given time.

Media have been cordoned off in the parking lot of a large shopping center at the corner of West Florissant Avenue and Lucas-Hunt Road, less than a mile from the site of the shooting.

And regarding the agitators, yeah, there's quite a bit of out-of-towners inciting riots and non-compliance with the police. Communists, anarchists, etc. There's video and Twitter evidence of this fact (I love how everyone is making excuses, e.g., "it's photoshopped", "lol FBI provocateurs", etc. Communists are going to be communists.)

If they did, it would be criticized without limit and the zeal of liberals and the "oppressed" black community screaming "DAS WAYCISS" will most likely drown out any and all actual debate. I know some cops can be badasses but I'm finding it hard to believe that this officer reached for Brown's throat.  I  mean look how huge Brown was compared to Officer Wilson. He outweighed him by alot and was way taller. I just don't see some average size cop thinking he could man handle a man of Brown's size.

Dorian Johnson, 22, was walking with Brown when, he said, Wilson instigated a confrontation by pulling up to the pair in his police cruiser and telling them to get out of the middle of the street. Johnson said Wilson pulled up so close to Brown that when he opened his car door, it bumped into the teenager.

According to Johnson, Wilson reached out, grabbed Brown by the throat and then grabbed his shirt as Brown tried to move away. At that point, Johnson said, he saw Wilson pull out a gun and shoot Brown in the chest or arm. Johnson said the officer hit Brown with another round as he was running away and fatally gunned him down after he stopped and raised his hands in surrender.

Also, I can't find what kind of gun the officer had.  How many rounds could it hold?

I don't see how it's possible. if Wilson was sitting down in his car.  He wouldn't have the advantage or the leverage.  Wilson could have grabbed at him, but the examiner didn't find any marks on Brown's neck.

It's more likely that Brown grabbed for Wilson through the window and Wilson defended himself.  No one is going to instigate a physical confrontation when confined in a car.

Despite Threats, QuikTrip Has No Plans To Rebuild in Ferguson

A QuikTrip official told TGP the company has no plans on rebuilding in Ferguson and that the looted store was barely breaking even.
