I call major league BS on this.
If you are married, and incapacitated, your spouse should have your documents (DL, SS Card, insurance, etc), and sign things for you. They are your closest relative and it is implied you would want them to know about your condition. Until you are conscious, HIPAA extends to them.
What I am sure is missing is this moonbat was telling the staff how to do things. That, or writing everything they were doing down for an impending lawsuit. Or was being such a class A bitch that it was better to keep her a arm's length.
Plus, if the husband coded 4 times, you can bet they kept this battle axe out until he was stabilized. They didn't want any distractions while they were SAVING HIS LIFE!!! Rational people would realize this, respect what they were doing, and once they did things like stabilize, get all the necessary tests ordered and done, the doctor to round and do their assessments, they would have been right out to speak to her.
But, of course she made it all about her. I see this almost every day.
The appeasement with the private room...hate to break it to you, but ICUs are usually one patient per room, depending on the hospital.
And I missed it, but does she have a gay daughter?
