I would love to think DB got away with it. But I have 4 jumps on round parachutes from the early 80's. Even during the best of conditions landings in those canopies were treacherous.
Wondering about how many bags of loot he took down with him. Is it difficult to handle the lines of a parachute holding in both hands or just one hand something that adds weight to just one side of the body ?
Zombie, I have watched the what I consider either crazy or really brave nuts jump out of planes all my life. The military films taken show the training shots and of those that freeze at the door of the plane being booted out none to gently.
My EX-Ray tech is 25 , a female and does the free falls etc and she invited me to the small airport in town to watch her and friends do their thing.
As an on looker knowing one of the jumpers it is easy to understand why family do not go out to watch too often, I did not know this young woman that well but my blood pressure must have been so high my face turned blue.
This young woman kind of walked her way down, she was one of the few that landed on one foot and the other carried her forward, other then the parachute and the lines dragging behind her she could have been walking in the park.
Some of the others landed on their butt, back or got dragged about by the parachutes and lines, this did not look like fun.
Far as DB goes, a few years ago someone found a bag of some of that money, I wonder if a Bear ate him, and the rest of the money.
