A sincere message to nadin
« on: July 24, 2014, 10:16:13 PM »
Nadin,

While I don’t have much use for your condescending, all-knowing, it’s-all-about-me attitude, I do have a serious and sincere suggestion for you.

You have access to what is arguably the most famous/popular comic convention in the world. Due to the fact that it is so popular and due to the recent comic based blockbuster movies there will be a ton of media at the event. Almost all of that media will be covering the product (comics, movies, etc) or cosplay (and similar) events. You have the opportunity to do something different.

In my opinion, one of the most interesting aspects of any comic convention are the fans in attendance, and I’m not talking about the fans who walk in wearing their regular street clothes. I’m talking about the fans who show up in character (and not the ones there for cosplay events or to serve in booths). These are fans who (1) have a true love for the genre (2) are still young at heart and (3) have a bit of an adventurous spirit. Granted, some are just crazy, but many just want to feel involved and demonstrate their creativity.

I suggest that you focus on these fans. And not just to take their photos like most people do. Talk to them. Find out why they do what they do. How long it takes them to prepare. What concerns they have putting themselves out there in their costumes.

If you do that, you will be doing something unique, and on this very website I will commend you for it.

A 55 year old man dressed up as a comic book character will still make nads look like a demented tumbleweed.

Possibly.

I may get some heat for this thread, but it's my duty to help people so that's what I'm doing. Now I'm sure she'll ignore my suggestion since I'm just a fictional spirit-guide and she's everything, but at least I can say that I tried.

If we're making requests...

Hey, gNads. Write us a pullet surprise winner on large-breasted redheads in Anime schoolgirl outfits.

I'm talking about large-breasted redheaded women, gNads. Women.

And have the addled retired submarine chief take lots and lots of pictures.

I would like to make a request...
A demonstration of a 60cm hail event.
With nads being a weather journo and climatologist, seeding the clouds for an on cue hailstorm should be big bubbles, no troubles.
The moisture source could be the Rubican. It's in flood stage right now as I understand it.
With a little irrigation we could have some iceberg lettuce for the aptly named...word salad.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

FlippyDoo, I never realized that fictional spirit guides had such altruism in their astral selves.  Most noble of you!

However, using my fictional psychic prognosticational powers, I predict she will disregard your quite magnanimous offer.

It came to me in a dream, FlippyDoo.

Other dogs dream of chasing rabbits. I dream of chasing big breasted redheads. The schoolgirl outfits are just frosting on the cake.

I'm sure you're correct in your prediction of her disregard.

In regard to the first part, I think I experienced an incident that was more that simple altruism. After much internal debate on the subject I think I have come to a conclusion.

You may remember that a couple of days ago the stevennumbers DUmmie requested good thoughts for California and asked for good vibes to be sent to cure the drought. Since the DUmmies really don't have good thoughts or good vibes they projected what they had the most of: stupid.

Yes, it appears that I got caught in the astral cross-fire of a conflux of the concentrated projection of stupid which briefly overwhelmed my normal state. I think the effect may have been temporary.
