A LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device) was used to disperse a rally at Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 2:43pm. There has been previous use of an LRAD in Detroit on May 1, 2012 when Occupy Detroit gathered on the public sidewalk outside Grand Circus Park after park closing hours of 10pm.
I can't help wondering if all of these inhumane actions are just ways of making people leave their homes, to get their property, sell it and miraculously resurrect Detroit? And the other 11 Michigan cities under the imposed Emergency Management Law?

DirkGently (9,830 posts) 6. "Less-than-lethal" weapons = greater excuse to use them. The flip-side of all of these military / police toys designed to control, rather than kill is ... they are designed to CONTROL.
Sunlei (6,265 posts) 9. all that billions in drug cash seizures- goes right to the looters, the police departments. whatever the 'bad' police don't stuff into their pockets first.

You know what would fix this right?FREE WATER FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EleVEnTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You never want to let libs get too close to water. Do you know what a lib will do in there ?
If they can buy drugs, why can't they pay their water bill?
Priorities, man! Libs can do without water...
I guess they would rather have water cannons, dogs, rubber bullets, or actual firepower used against them.
I would, after all, it's STILL Detroit...
Problem solved; grab a bucket and go to the Detroit River or Lake Michigan.
