primitives discuss what's for supper Wednesday evening

Oh my.

You know, ever since Monday morning, Skins's island has turned into a vast, boring wasteland, what with the primitives' obsession over an issue about which they know little, and understand less.

The whole place looks like a bleak, uninteresting lunar landscape, a grey monotony.

But at the same time, it's important to remind the cooking and baking primitives that franksolich still has his eyes open for their seditious sentiments and treasonous aspirations.

What's for Dinner ~ Wednesday ~ July 2nd

No clue here yet!

1. well, I have a clue

It's hot.

And therefore, easy-to-make things, like chicken salad and also cucumber soup.

But I'm still mullin' it over, too, Lucinda.

2. I'm working my way through a supermarket deli roasted chicken.

May have a cold plate meal. Sliced chicken breast w/dijon, sliced tomato w/romaine & dressing, potato salad, flat bread.

3. Chicken

None of the local grocery store have whole chickens on sale this week. But I am sooo jonesing for a 1/2 chicken. I always cook on my days off (today), but my cravings do not match the store circulars.

Oy.

So, screw cooking today. I'm off to El Pollo Loco for a 1/2 chicken meal with rice and beans for dinner.

4. Braised short ribs.

I've got shallots and carrots cooking in the braising liquid, too.

You know, I've always wondered how much time primitives squander on fixing their food.

If there's any truth to what they say they have for supper, they must spend at least an hour a day preparing only one of the three daily meals.

My rule of thumb is, if it takes more than two minutes (uncooked) or five minutes (cooking) to make, it's not going to get made.  No chow is worth more time than that.

This is NOT criticism of decent and civilized people who enjoy fine dining; their motives are different, and have a noble purpose.

But these are primitives here, people with no class, no taste, no sophistication.

It looks as if more of a long complicated empty ritual, than a useful activity.  And that's just for one meal, remember.

This evening after learning I have to go back to work again, I just dumped some cornflakes into a bowl and added whole milk (no sugar, though), for supper, finding it eminently satisfactory.

One eats to live; that's all it should be.

<<<has stood at the hospital beds, and ultimately the deathbeds, of far too many people who lived only to eat.

Once, I served some kid cornflakes with whole milk and a banana sliced up for breakfast and he said it was the best breakfast he ever had.

The DUmmies are being the same pretentious twits that they are. Say, did you know cbayer is going to Italy for the summer? That's probably why she hasn't posted in that thread yet.

Yeah, she overate and then probably got tanked up, the night before the flight.

The overeating was probably bad enough, but this other thing probably crashed her for a few days.

Say, did you know cbayer is going to Italy for the summer?

Why yes. She's only mentioned it as frequently as John F'n mentioned his brief visit to Viet Nam.

She enjoys rubbing the DUmmies' noses in her affluence and their relative poverty.

Very gauche. Very, very low class.

The CalPig spent a month touring Iceland and barely mentioned it.

The only thing low class about her is her awful, vulgar poetry. And everything else.

But she doesn't flaunt wealth.

I can't wait to see the obligatory photo of the Calpig mixing it up with some locals dressed in their authentic Icelandic garb.

CalPig will most likely be raving about the local cuisine--fish heads, for example. :puke:

Egads

I've seen more appetizing stuff being scraped into the garbage.  I would not feed my dog something that looked like that.

So the DUmmies screech incessantly about dinner, abortion pills, bare tits, and Ralph Nader, while a human tragedy looms on the horizon.

Not the mexican invasion, nor muzzies killing muzzies in Iraq and Syria (actually that's good).

No, there's a weak hurricane in the Atlantic off the east coast. Worst case, some sand may get washed onto some beach roads.

But with nadin in DUmp purgatory, there's no one over there reminding people to be safe. No one to explain the connection between this storm and fracking. No one to point out how adoption of the mexican educational system would have prevented this catastrophe.

So all those millions of people are at the mercy of nature. We're at risk of trees from Myrtle Beach to Manhattan festooned with dangling corpses, or at least some sand in the street, all because of Skimmer's stupid ban software.

If nadin were at the DUmp none of this would have happened.

She'd be giving minute-by-minute storm track info so no one would be caught by surprise.

She'd be giving instructions on boarding windows and how to store up emergency provisions including canned milk.

She'd be explaining why she isn't surprised, and that the storm is a predictable result of American business practices.

Above all, she'd be reminding everyone to be safe.

You'd think even stupid Americans would have learned from the San Diego experience. Since nadin's been on the job in San Diego, that city has not suffered a single hurricane fatality.

Skimmer will have blood, or at least sand, on his hands, while the DUmp discusses cucumber soup.
