WASHINGTON – Latino gang members were hunting for black people in the Harbor Gateway community of Los Angeles. Age was not a factor. Neither was gender. Cheryl Green, 14, was on her scooter, talking to friends when a hail of bullets killed the 8th-grader and injured several other black youngsters. That was December 2006. But the race-motivated carnage has only increased since then, say law-enforcement authorities from coast to coast – with Hispanic gangs targeting blacks and black gang reciprocating as their communities are increasing surrounded by the exploding population of Hispanics, much of it fueled by illegal immigration. War of the victim classes. What's new? I read an interesting piece one time that talked about how at the lower socioeconomic scales it is actually not about race, despite the names lobbied at one another, but at the grappling for limited resources at the bottom and the propensity of the undereducated in particular to look for scapegoats for their own incompetency and/or poor decision making.

I would honestly like to round up all of the gang members, drop them in a barren 2 mile square electrified fence area, then arm them with full auto AK-47s.

Old news--blacks and Hispanics have been going at it in LA for a couple of decades now.  The black vote is nearly insignificant now compared to the 1950's and 60's in LA, and damned if there isn't some tension about their "turf" being taken over, not just in neighborhoods, but also businesses and City Hall.

I fail to see the problem with gang-bangers killing each other off, as long as they restrict it to each other that is....but maybe that's just me?
