Hillary: We were dead Broke after White House.

Quote
Hillary Clinton, who recently raked in $5 million dollars in speaking fees in 15 months, recounted to Diane Sawyer the sad tale of her former destitution, telling her, “We came out of the White House not only dead broke but in debt.”

According to Clinton, she and her husband, who has made over $100 million since leaving the White House, “struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages for houses, for Chelsea’s education, you know, it was not easy.”

But, as Clinton’s story goes, the two hard-working, middle-class millionaires somehow managed to put food on the table in their multiple houses, even though they “had to make double the money, because of, obviously, taxes, and then pay off the debts and get us houses and take care of family members.”

Although Sawyer wondered if Americans would understand why Hillary Clinton needs a speaking fee of $200,000, “five times the median income in this country for one speech”, Clinton assured her that she’s taking the high road: “I thought making speeches for money was a much better thing than getting connected with any one group or company as so many people who leave public life do.”
Can democrats got for a single day without lying?

What utter horseshit, yet it trips off her tongue like an aria from the mouth of a coloratura soprano.

Disgusting.

She might be right. Some on the left still hold her time on the Walmart board and her connection to Perdue Farms against her.

Dead broke when they left the white house, huh.....but next day after a trip to the pawn shop they were singing, "We're in the money, We're in the money."

Exactly what I was thinking.  All that White House china and silver service had to be worth a pretty penny or 6.

But Hillary

“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

Changing things around a little here.....

Bill and Hillary were broken people long before they got to Washington.....I just wish they had been dead when they left.

But they could afford a house in Westchester County.  AND she was a Senator in 2001.

Wish I was that kind of broke.

She dropped her purse which had the family fortune and Bill's ball in it when the snipers were shooting at her.

And don't forget the fundraising organization specifically to cover the multiple millions of Obama-bucks they spent on Billy Jeff's legal defense obstructing Justice.

I haven't forgotten their legal defense funds. I just wonder what happened to them. I also wonder if they absconded with any leftover money.

Hillary: Bill and I Aren't 'Truly Well Off'

Hillary Clinton: Bill and I Aren't 'Truly Well Off'
Quote
If the recent firestorm over Hillary Clinton's claims of poverty upon leaving the White House with huge debt was meant to send the former First lady a message, clearly she didn't get it.

Seemingly unwilling to let go of the 'I'm one of the little people' meme for what would be a populist positioning as a White House candidate in 2016, today in The Guardian, she's all but crying poor, again.

America's glaring income inequality is certain to be a central bone of contention in the 2016 presidential election. But with her huge personal wealth, how could Clinton possibly hope to be credible on this issue when people see her as part of the problem, not its solution?

"But they don't see me as part of the problem," she protests, "because we pay ordinary income tax, unlike a lot of people who are truly well off, not to name names; and we've done it through dint of hard work," she says, letting off another burst of laughter. If past form is any guide, she must be finding my question painful.

On the other side of America's great partisan divide, Clinton's enemies are all the more vocal. Like vultures, her detractors on the right are already starting to circle before she has even declared her intentions. "Yeah. They're waking up," she says with a smile.

Despite decades spent living in what most would view as wealthy environs and being driven here and there by chauffeurs, when not screaming at her Secret Service contingent,  it would appear that Hillary Clinton still wants us to feel her pain.

I'm not sure that's a proposition even her far slicker husband Bill could sell.

Hmmm. I think she plans to go after the one percent, bur exempt herself and her cronies.

OK, say they were dead broke when they left the white house. In 13 years and 5 months they've amassed a 100 million dollar fortune....how much do 2 crooks have to steal to be truly well off?

I'm not buying that "broke when they left the WH" bullshit.

They had enough money to buy a very nice house in upscale Westchester County, NY. (This purchase was to satisfy the requirement for Hillary to run for U.S. Senator from NY.)

And judging by the look of her thighs, she hasn't missed very many meals since the White House chefs were providing her and her entourage gourmet chow.
