Another liberal radio show bites the dust

The link: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jack-coleman/2014/05/22/liberal-radio-keeps-shrinking-ed-schultz-departs-airwaves-much-shorter

The headline:

Liberal Radio Keeps Shrinking as Ed Schultz Departs Airwaves for Much Shorter Web Broadcast

Excerpt:

Quote
Less than a week after Air America Radio refugee Randi Rhodes signed off with her last broadcast, libtalker Ed Schultz announced that he too is ending his radio show.

Schultz began his decade-old radio program today by saying he will air his last three-hour weekday broadcast on Friday and start an hour-long weekday show accessible from the Internet on May 27, the day after Memorial Day. (Audio after the jump)

Schultz today responded to those he described as naysayers falsely claiming he is "being taken off the air," although based on his own words he is being taken off the air, albeit voluntarily. Here is what Schultz told his radio listeners about the change (audio) --

First thing I thought of was this:

So, is ProgTalk a dying segment of Talk Radio? Or are there rising (falling?) stars to replace Schultz & Rhodes?
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

Did you miss the crash and burn of Air America?

Interesting that in the marketplace of ideas, liberalism can't find even a toehold.

As much as it pains me, maybe we need the Fairness Doctrine!!

1/2 of the Olde Gray Whore required to be dedicated to Conservatism would be great!

And Rush, Sean, Glenn, and Mark could have a 100% opposite in the chair next to each and easily handle the liberals with 1/2 of each of the conservatives' brains tied behind their back just to make it fair (thanks, Rush).

But of course the MSM would be the watchdogs so there would never be true equality of ideas.  Ever.  Only the fascist left groupthink..

I dunno...  Considering Hannity had Alan Colmes sitting next to him for all of those years, it got pretty annoying listening to Alan's bullshit.

No, I celebrated it and roasted marshmallows over Err America's embers. But that was several years ago, and Rhodes' and Schultz's departures are very recent.

If you want to go back in Talk Radio's history for Lib/Prog flops, I think former NY Mayor Koch had a brief unsuccessful national show, and despite encouragement from Rush and a successful local show in SF, Bernie Ward's mid-1990s attempt to go national also bombed (Ward is currently engaged in a career in Lompoc of modeling orange jumpsuits).

Nothing more than the ripple returning from the other side of the pond.  Lib talk radio never survives any prolonged contact with reality and their yakkers never make it anywhere close to the audience/ad revenue of conservative talkers.
