A gunman and six others were killed and seven more injured when a shooter opened fire in the coastal college town of Isla Vista near the University of California, Santa Barbara Friday night, officials said.

The suspected gunman died of a gunshot wound to the head, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown said at a Saturday morning news conference.

He could not confirm whether the gunshot was self-inflicted.

The shooter identified as Elliot Rodger left a video explaining why he did it. He talks about retribution. He is the son of Hunger Games Assistant Director Peter Rodger. Sounds like a DUmmy to me.

In it, a man identifying himself as Eliot Rodger sits in a car with palm trees in the background, calmly declaring his intention of murdering women as revenge for his romantic frustrations.

Someone with the username EliotRodger was a regular poster on an online message board called PUAhate, on which men who have been unlucky with women commiserate, criticize one another, excoriate the opposite sex, and denounce PUA's, or pick-up artists — dating gurus whom they accuse of preying on desperate men like themselves for financial gain.

Many of the posters identify themselves as "incels," short for involuntary celibates, and some of the posts fantasize about violence toward women.

Then, on Friday night, Rodger went on a killing spree.

He fatally stabbed 20-year-old Wang of Fremont and his two Bay Area friends in their Isla Vista apartment, then killed two sorority sisters and a 20-year-old man at a deli, and injured 13 others, before killing himself, according to authorities.

On a F&F report this A.M., they said that the parents were worried about him and called his shrink who called the cops and told them to go and get him.  The cops thought he seemed okay and that was that.
