What do you men shave with?

I recently went on a jihad against the obscene prices for replacement blades for my Gillette mach 3, I didn't shave for a month and apparently, that is a bad look for me.  I tried electric but may as well have flushed $95.00 that I spent on my Braun electric shaver down the toilet.

So I bought a Merkur safety razor from amazon along with about a years worth of blade replacements, total investment was about $65.00.  Little bit of a learning curve but so far, I'm a happy camper!   It's the closest shave that I have ever had, outside of the PI.  Replacement blades come 10 to the pack and are only $6.00.

Wilkinson Sword blades, Genuine Ogallala shaving soap and bristle brush, and Genuine Ogallala Bay Rum, Sage, and Cedar after shave.

Or I get a shave from my barber.

Still using the Mach 3.  I don't have heavy facial hair so a blade lasts a couple of months or more.

That's what I used for the longest time.  Then I got tired of buying the blades, and switched to true disposables.  Then I got tired of them, and switched to a safety razor. 

Now I just need to get my old medicine cabinet up on the wall that has the razor slot in it, so I can leave the dull blades in the wall.

Shaving, what's that?  If I break a sweat within a day of shaving  my neck gets a bad rash. I just run a trimmer over it every couple of days unless I need to shave for a special occasion.

I just trim with a trimmer when it gets long enough to get stuck in the pillow when I'm trying to sleep.

The Mach 3 is probably the best improvement since shaving cream.  It's been around for years.

Well, you gals have more surface area to cover. 

I usually dry shave with the hottest water my plumbing will put out.  I brush my teeth waiting for the water to heat up.

Maybe I'm unclear on the concept of a dry shave.  No foam, only hot water. :p

Way back when I was in boot camp and we had an inspection they would look us over right before and do a quick dry shave over any spot you didn't get close enough.  It was a true dry shave.  :panic:

If I did that, I would look like I was still suffering from acne for a week until my face healed.

My spousal unit buys those Venus razors.  I KNOW she has been using my safety razor though.  I am going to have to start hiding it.

I use the Mach 3 disposable.  Shave face and head in the shower.  There was a learning curve for the back of the head, and I did save a couple of trips to the dermatologist for removal of a couple of moles, but now no problem.

Following shower/shave I use a vitamin E face cream on head and face rather than an 'after shave' lotion, and have no problems with rashes.

My innovation in shaving isn't the razor (Mach 3, blade lasts a week), but instead of shaving cream I use medicated Aloe Vera gel. 

I get a MUCH closer shave and a $5 bottle lasts about a year.
