Any of you have one of those Teeter Hangup tables? If so, what do you think about it?

We got my wife one before she had her back surgery.  Does a great job of relieving pressure on her spine in the area of her injury. She swears by it.

Yes, the decompression table at chiropractors office is really helping me.

Does it hurt her ankles? Headache?

Wish I could find a used one somewhere.

She sets the table for a pretty shallow angle - by no means does she go full inverted - and so she does her sessions on the rack in about 10-15 minute increments. Most of her weight is still being caeeied by the table rather than the ankle clamps, so no sore ankles, etc.

Ok, makes sense.  They have me at 90# for my decompression table.  Keep going up in 2# increments.

Years ago I used to have all kinds of lower back pain.  My back would go out, but after a few days I would recover....until the next time.  It didn't seem to take much for it to happen again.

After one bad time, I went six weeks in pain with little relief.  Had taken so much ibuprofen that I had prickly red dots all over my skin.

I don't know what possessed me to try it, but I got into a recliner chair upside down.  My hips were up on the back part of the chair with my feet in the air and my head was where your feet go.  I stayed that way for about 20 mins. It hurt but I could feel the stretching in my back.  Later that evening a lot of the pain was gone and completely gone the next day.  (not sure you should try that, it wasn't easy getting out of that chair).

You should invest in a good one of those tables if your getting results. Have you checked Amazon?

Don't need to go to anyplace exotic to get one.  We got my wife's from Sports Authority, and comparison shopped Big5 and Dicks before pulling the trigger. Doing it that way, you at least will have the opportunity to try the various models out, and get a feel for which one will give you the most bang for your buck.

H5s to Gina and D6 for the comments.  I'm in the market for one, as well.  My chiropractor said that it wouldn't hurt, and that he recommended that I go out and get one.  My wife's been balking because of the possible space requirements.  I'm going to go out and get one fairly soon, and that's going to be that.

I know ranchers and oil fields people that have really improved since using them.  They don't use extreme angles, either.

I'm glad you are getting some relief.

There's a model on sale at Wally-World. I just might look into this.

The unobtainable is unknown at Zombo.com

There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I have one and I like it a lot when my back is out of whack.  I go full upright.  Only takes me about 5 mins. to straighten out my back.  I also use it to do inverted sit-ups.  Abs really feel it.  Unfortunately, the other night I didn't have the pin that holds the ankle bracket in tight and I fell out.  Thank God , I was reaching up at the time, because I landed on my shoulders rather than the top of my head.  I could've snapped my neck. Scared the hell out of me, but it was all my fault.  Operator error.  Machine is still fine.

I went to dicks and tried two out.  If course I liked the most expensive one.  It felt cookie though! I also have thus idea I can do crunches to knock out my baby belly flab.

no, no, no...don't you dare.  That's the last thing you need.  One of my worst lower back episodes was from doing tummy crunches.

You need to find another, slower way, to strengthen your lower back.

When I had severe lower back pain several years ago, I was given a list/diagram of exercises to do, leg lifts and sit ups were among them.  I guess building up the abs helps to support the back muscles or something.

A cousin of mine told me that an orthopedic doctor told him this exact thing--something about 95% of back problems coming from a lack of work on the abs.
