So I have this idiot GOP teabagger friend
« on: April 03, 2014, 08:44:18 AM »
After Barry declared Obamacare to be a success and over 7+ million people had signed up, he ordered the press not to do any more 'horror' stories about it. Real Numbers? Facts? the Truth? Not out of this administration.

So I have this idiot GOP teabagger friend that claims
that of the 7M enrolled in the ACA, 6M of them were forced to lose their insurance due to the ACA and had to reapply under the ACA. And of course, they're paying more than they were with their sub standard insurance. And of course, their new deductibles are higher than their sub standard insurance. And of course, someone put a gun to their head to apply. So his point was that only 1M new people have officially been added. The right is so delusional over this, it's killing them. OMG the ACA is really working!!!! And in more ways than one. And I'm loving every second of it.

Of course, I have not read nor heard ANYTHING about this. I'm guessing he heard it on FAUX, but who knows. What I do know is that the far right is freaking out because the ACA has been such a huge success. So I asked him, show me proof. He's working on that. LMAO.

This is ok moling. It's not the best, but it's ok.

2. He is getting it from ABC news

I was sick when the spokesman was asking if these were people who lost insurance. Have they paid? Are they young? I wanted to throw the TV out the window.

Those pesky things called facts make the DUmpmonkiez sick.

8. Fox, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, and probably others I haven't seen

If you haven't read about it you can find an explanation in many places without visiting fox. We need to wait for a breakdown of the numbers. Obama's 7M. Pelosi's 9.5M. Who they are does matter but no need to jump to conclusions until we have details. The first goal was met so expect the best and don't worry until/if bad news comes, not bad rumors.

Don't gloat about breakdown yet but you will likely be able to throw that 1M claim back in his face very soon WITH FACTS rather than speculation. For now just stick with the FACT that the 7M goal was met which opponents have been saying wouldn't be done for the last 4+ months.

The truth, at least as far as anyone can find out, is less that 900,000 have signed up AND paid... We may never know for sure.

I notice they're back on the sub-standard meme again.
Repeat a lie enough, and black becomes white.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I'm still waiting for examples of the "sub-standard" insurance that was sooo horrible.

No, I will not be holding my breath.

My current plan through work has a $350/family member deductible, with a max out of pocket of $2400/year. $12.50 for generic prescriptions and 33% for brand names. $28.00 for office visits.

I have to pay less than $150/mo for it.

At least he's got the "So I..." down right.

That is very close to what my plan is.  Is your place of work self insured?

Of course missing from the DUmmie report is just what SmittynMo's friend thinks of SmittynMo. Something along the lines of "SmittynMo? he is a DUfus".

Yes, and we have 2 or 3 years left on a five year contract. I think the company owner wanted some stability because he knew ObamaCare was going to be a crapfest.

Ours isn't on a contract, but we have had only one increase in eight years.  We've already been told that absorbing the added costs isn't something that we can afford to keep doing.  We also have an ESOP, so either way it has been hitting my pocketbook.

Have you had any word from your employer on what they might do after your contract is up?

In November of 2013 Obama said that 6-8 million people losing the health insurance they liked was a small percentage of the population and nothing to worry about.

In April of 2014 Obama said that & million people signing up for Obama-democrat Care and medicaid is a huge deal.

Obama and the entire democrat media complex are liars of the top order.

I think they plan on making it compliant with Obamacare if Obamacare is repealed or changed first.  OTOH, there isn't much that would have to be changed to lower it to the Obama standards.  :rotf:
